i had one of them jobs once.

they lead to unhappyness, lack of free time, and having to be nice to people you dont like. and worse of all, TAX, the good thing abour work is you get to erode your life away and instead of being you , you get to become your job title, and cometative about your job, im a ME im the best at beiong ME and nobody can take that away from ME, when you become a teacher or a roadsweeper sudenly you have to be competative at how good you are at yuor new title.

My god ive just put myself of work for the rest of my life....!!!!!

right i shall email my boss telling him he is an ugly wombat thats dances like a girl, and smells. that should do the job..

The Platoon Structure for the LAMI is:

1 Lt.
-1st Squad
-2nd Squad
-3rd Squad
1 NCO
-4th Squad
-5th Squad
-6th Squad
(Reinforced)
2nd NCO
-7th Squad
-8th Squad
-9th Squad
(Command Assets at PL1)
1 SICON Military Agent
-1st SICON LAMI Squad
-2nd SICON LAMI Squad
-3rd SICON LAMI Squad

Namely because it's 3 squads per officer...and the SICON Military Agent is an officer....SOOOOOO...that's 3 extra Squads per SICON guy.

What the hurk is the Mk2 Raider helmet, and why in God's name would anyone spend a lot of time converting 10 point models? :)

because some of us are CRAAAAZZZYYYY like that 8) . My army is going to have a basic black armor for the soldiers like that, but the leaders will have different colored armor according to rank, with the highest rank wearing almost all white (perhaps that would be a SICON agent :? ) and then a bright red as well. Thinking that would show up really well.

I refer you to the United Citizens Federation book..1 sec...

pg 102 - M-2 Tactical Helmet: This helmet is a poor cousin of the M-3 helmet variations found on the Stryker suit and other sorts of powered armour. Evocative of combat helmets from earlier centuries, it protects the top and back of hte head, leaving the face exposed. It incorporated the following functions:

-Communications:: Short-range comms system for coordinating light troopers on the battlefield
-Light: Lamp that casts a circle of light in a 15ft radius up to 120ft.
-Eyepiece: Small one inch by one inch eyepiece that drops down from the helmet in front of the wearer's right eye with a light tug. This eyepiece acts as an infraed filter, allowing the wearer to see infrared signatures out to a range of 30ft

Note: There is a M-2-a Tactical Helmet in the final Stages of testing now. It is almost identical to the M-2, except for an added function of the eyepiece. It is designed to work in tandem with the light trooper's weapon, displaying a small red dot on the eyepiece to show the trooper exactly where his weapon is pointing.

Ok...so just model some of them with the eyepiece in place.

We want pics! We want pics! We want pics! That does sound a hell of a lot like what the US military wants right now, would work out well for those green LAMI. Which I was thinking, are we going to get elite LAMI some time? If you think about it, not all of them are green, so there has to be SOME LAMI with experience who would have dodge saves, longer command range, more weapons, and a normal firezone perhaps?

Veteran LAMI? What's that? LAMI are the boots that get told, "Hey here's a t-shirt with the word 'armor' written on it, oh, and here, have a bicycle helmet and some kneepads, and hey, if any of you survive, maybe we'll consider giving you the cool green armor with the faceplate..."

I voted for the 1 box I have on order...might get a 2nd box to try a few conversions for fun. The models I've seen really do look fantastic.

Unfortunately for me (because I'm absolutely THRILLED by the LAMI rules), I can't see fielding a ton of them...too many repeat casts. Yeah, that's being pretty anal but I've had a blast doing simple-yet-good-looking conversions on those pesky Power Suit troopers everybody seems to hate building. And now I'm spoiled by the variety and character of my Power Suit army. I would have had the time of my life with those plastic LAMIs...oh well.

If Mongosse decides to offer more casts of the LAMIs in the future, I'll be the first in line to buy them. Here's to hoping MGP has some long-range plans to build on the current LAMI army list and hopefully throw in a few more casts! Maybe they could be Veterans or Reinforcements or something.

I'm OK with the duplicate poses. The sculpts are so good it doesn't matter to me. I also like how there is a difference (and not a barbie difference) between the "male" and "female" LMI.

If the plastic LMI in the Klendathu book were the ones to be released, I'm relieved they haven't been yet. All male is simply wrong and then there are the sculpts (or the choice of poses and painting job, I can't decide) but anyway...I'm buying at least 3 boxes, probably up to 5, heck maybe more as I want to get the metals before these are replaced with plastics. But that's just me.

Btw, I need some MP products at or below the $10 mark for my, "hey, I've got a dime in my pocket, I want some SST!" moments. I'd buy blisters of extra LMI metal poses and/or weapons options and/or special characters too.

Elvis!

You absolutely nailed it! Blisters of extra LAMI poses! Brilliant!

I hope somebody at Mongoose is reading this...I don't know if the economics are there to support it but US$6-9 per blister (depending on # of figs included) would be a no-brainer for me.

At the very least, there could be blisters of new sculpts for:
1) FedNet Reporter w/2-3 Troopers w/Moritas
2) Sniper w/2-3 Troopers
3) Rocket Launcher w/2-3 Troopers
4) Radio guy w/ 2-3 Troopers
5) All-female troopers

-or-

Another box of new 20 new sculpts would work, too...whatever it takes for the numbers work out best.

I'm might have to buy one box to see these upclose...they remind me of Team America...not in agood way... :(

Kupo

Got a box of 'em and think they're freakin' awesome. But definitely can't wait 'til another box with more poses comes out. Same split of types of model, just in different poses. There should definitely be one reloading his Morita. And G&T, why not a blister of a few medics? None of the LAMIs seem to have that "Medic!" look to them.

And you sir, have clarified it very well. I'd buy any of those packs you've listed above. Thank You!

I'd add to it:

6) Sniper pack of 2-3 (that's 2-3 snipers in the pack)
7) Longbow Launcher Pack of 2-3. (2-3 Longbows in the pack)

I'd pay a premium for the snipers and longbows (not so much troopers) if they're different poses. Especially for a pack or three of snipers who are not shooting the dirt!

Note that I DO NOT recommend combining the sniper and longbow in the same pack. That's "GW" style and I hate it.

Also, I need to be clear, I'm not against MP releasing plastics in the future , as I think they might. It does allow for more pose variation and easier conversions. I'm happy right now to have the metal and it's so much better for me they are simple to put together, I don't have the time for fiddly plastic right now!

As an aside, one place I've notice MP products are lacking (at least in my FLGS, see sig) is the $10 or less range. There's nothing for a customer to buy if they want to stop in, drink a soda, discuss the stupid things HMGS-E or GW have done this week and then pull out a dime and buy a pack of something for their (my) "Fix". Right now Battlefront is getting all that money!

Yeah, Elvis

I'm with you on wanting to be crystal clear about the plastic LAMI. For all the great idea-honing re: blisters of metal LAMIs for additional poses, one decent box of plastic LAMIs would make the bargain-basement conversion artist in me happier than the King eating a deep-fried peanut butter and banana sandwich (a heavenly creation, btw..had my first one in Memphis no less).

In lieu of a box of plastic LAMIs, though, I think having a ratio of one newly-posed specialist model plus 2-3 newly-posed Morita troopers would be really nice. IDEALLY, the Morita troopers you'd get with each specialist would be unique to that blister...meaning that if you buy all the blisters, you wouldn't have any repeat poses of Morita guys.

I think the specialist models are all useful enough (kudos to Mongoose for that) to warrant at least a couple of each in a LAMI force. Mathc that usefulness with a desire to see some variety in the poses across all the LAMI model types and you've got me sold.
