Has anyone ever ordered a space mat from a company called Hotz Artworks? I ordered a 2 mats from these guys 4 weeks ago and still nothing. That part doesnt bother me, I kinda figured it was going to take a while.

Getting no response from 4 different emails and no order confimation email though is beginning to bug me.

Is this typical from this company or did something get screwed up in the works?

I got my Space Mat a little while back. No order confirmation isn't normal.

I think Eric has been through a fair bit in the past few months.. moving.. some unspecified personal tragedy (rumour).

Calling might work.

It took 2 months for my double-sided space mat to arrive, it was worth the wait.

I ordered 3 mats about 2 months ago. I recieved a confirmation and a tracking number. When I happened to order they had just printed several and my order didn't take as long as usual. This was according to an email from Eric. It still took about 4 weeks before shipping took place. They are excellent and worth the wait.

Guess I'll just hunker down and wait. I figured it was going to take quite awhile and it sounds like it'll be a good bit before I get a reply. Would love to call, but theres no phone number listed anywhere I can find.

Thx for the answers guys

I've gotten mats from these guys

I was able to order them through my local game shop, the mats are listed on alliance games distribution (USA)

I have 2 of these, but when I started doing bigger events, I looked for something less expensive. I discovered glittercloth; a black, glitter imbregnated, felt cloth, you can get for about 5-6 bucks a yard at a fabric store. the bolts are 6' wide, so 4 feet of the cloth is a normal sized mat. If you have some taken you can spray your own nebulae clouds. about 10-15 bucks or so when you're done.

ah - I ordered a mat 2 weeks ago - had no reply to 2 emails - the web site suggests an order confirmation will be given. Perhaps I'll have to wait a bit longer then - pity - I was looking forward to getting it. I ordered one with squares, was thinking of converting ACTA to squares - easy to do, and gets over all those annoying measurement and turning irregularities.

It does mention on the web site they moved office, wonder if this has disrupted things somewhat.

I'm glad the mats have arrived as I've never had problems with Hotz. The last mats I ordered were a couple of months ago, though, and at the time he was responsive on email and the mats came as quick as international post would allow. They look good (which is why I have several, I guess! )

That said, I have a giant space cloth jus tmade from some relatively cheap, wide black cloth from my local cheap fabric shop, covered with spatters of white and flourescent and luminous green and yellow paint. You have to use a large brush, keep it relatively dry and make sure the paint is fairly runny*, but it looks good. It's not hex-marked, mind you.

*Oh. Almost forgot. Also do it in a garage or well away from any walls, ceilings, fences and floors that shouldn't be covered in luminous spots...
