... and I am already getting ready.
As some may know I have been a member here for quite some time and have accumulated a disgusting post count, considering I don't play. It has taken me a while but I have finally turned a 40K friend of mine into a B5 nut. We have AIM conversations now and it's a blast (I am such a B5 nerd). Another 40K friend of mine is interested in the modles and will proably play as to not be kept out of the loop. He isn't a B5 fan, but my friend and I plan on working on him  .
Well, the reason we are playing so late is cause I am in NY for school while my friends are back at home in DE. Feb 16th is a vacation that I am going home for... so we have already set up to meet that weekend.
With that said, my friend plans on playing Earth. He is a big fan of heavy, slow and powerful ships. He, and I quote, "want a big[,] tough as nails battle ship and a few escorts," so he wants to know what to look into. He also likes rail guns (not the stats, just the weapon itself) and he really likes the Warlock. I told him the chances of us using a Worlock any time soon are slim... but he is buying one to paint up and own anyway.
I just so happen to have some Earth ships from when I was thinking about playing B5 Wars, so he will probably use them. I figured we would start with a 5 pt. Raid with no special orders and on opissite table edges. I want to keep it simple, but big enough to allow for some diversity.
Earth Fleet: (all I have)
Omega Destroyer (with 4 Tbolts)
3 Hyperions (with 1 Aurora each)
Centauri Fleet: (this I can mess with... but want to keep it like this)
Secundus
Altarian (with Raziks)
4 Vorchans
We will probably have a dust could or two and an asteroid cloud or two (I can't find the rules for terrain set up or effects in my update of SFoS...), which may be based on what BFG does.
Well, I know very few people will care but I wanted to share my elation (and our fleets) with all of you. Any comments or suggestions for the 2 fleets? I realize I will be at a severe disadvantage without range and (mini)beam weapons... but if he wins it may make him more inclined to get more involved. Then I can crush him with the power of the Teretius  .
