Hopes for the Eternal Champion reboot

Tal

Mongoose
While I am excited to hear about the coming books for Elric, Hawkmoon, and Corum, especially if it covers both eras or time frames, what I really hope is that the Multiverse book is the start of turning the Eternal Champion line of books into just that The Eternal Champion line. Meaning I hope that the support promised in the State of Mongoose turns out to cover all of the Eternal Champion worlds not just the ones we have seen before. There is a lot of potential in the line beyond the big three and I'm not sure that one book can due the rest of the Multiverse justice. Urlik's world of the southern ice, the Sundered Worlds, Old Mars, The End of Time, and all the differant era's of earth. There's alot of material there to be mined and not all of it fantasy.
While I am also excited to here about the adventures for Elric, Hawkmoon and Corum, this one most of all, I hope that we get some multiverse hopping adventures.

Hi,

my biggest fear is, that Mongoose does the same thing in the Stormbringer line, as Chaosium before them. They give us a new Edition of Stormbringer, but always reproduce already published information again in a new format. In my opinion, Stormbringer doesn’t change much since Elric!/Stormbringer from Chaosium. Ok, they changed the magic system, which was a good decision, but the majority of sourcebooks was just in another format. Some of them were better (Cults), some of them not (Eastern Realms in the Compendium).

As a long time fan and collector of the old Chaosium books, I really like to buy something new. So please, get rid of the habit to reproduce the old stuff and create something new!
NEW Adventures and a couple of campaigns would be a good start.

I'm sort of in the same boat as you with Elric. I own Chasium's 4th and all the supplements, Elric and all the supplements, 5th and MRQ Elric and supplements, Chaosium Hawkmoon, the Shattered Isle, and MRQ Hawkmoon and supplements, and Darcsydes Corum. I have all I need for Elric. I'm sure that more sourcebooks could be published for it but for the life of me could not think of what other than new adventures and campaigns. Hawkmoon I would like to see a little more for, like the promised Tech book maybe something on America. Corum I would love to have the second time frame, some sourcebooks and adventures. But I still hold to my original post. Love to be able to jump from Elric to Hawkmoon to Corum to the Sci-Fi of the Sundered Worlds to the planetary romance of Old Mars,etc... and use/have published support for it.

I'll be writing a campaign in the course of the next year. It'll be multiverse-spanning. It has the (working title) 'Of Promises Broken'.

New material is on the cards...

Sounds great Loz. Thanks for your fantastic work in the past and the future :D
Hopping in the Multiverse will be a lot of fun. I foundly remember Rogue Mistress. As far as I remember were you one of the authors.

Any chance of a complete Atlas of the YK? Also, in the Elric edition as updated to MRQ2, is there any chance of regional bonuses making the final cut?

As in a stat bonus ala Stormbringer 1? No. Skills, OTOH, may be affected in some way. But the re-working is a way-off yet and my attention is very much on other projects for now.

Pity about the stats - I like (and still use them).

re another version of the classics - I must admit I too have all the versions of Stormbringer /Elric but as its probably the best known (easiest to sell) I guess I understand the idea of keep remaking it?

Hawkmoon has a lot of areas that have not been really covered as yet - so plenty to do there.

Rouge Mistress was good fun - Multiverse hopping often plays a big role in my games. Several of the worlds make interesting new EC realms in their own right - I have run adventures where PCs have gone to these places and discovered the aftermath of the main campaign.
