Most of that are not really vehicles, but stowage and acessories in resin casts - and therefore not the most cheap ones - to be used in 1/72 models kits.

The main issue is that they are a bit offscale, being at 1/72, for BF:Evo.

But you don't need to go to HLJ to find this material.

depends on where you live, really. I've been buying toys from HLJ on a monthly basis for years and never had to pay anything beyond cost and shipping

me too, i <3s it becasue they are based in Los Angeles IIRC, which means they just have to ship it down the highway to me :D

For U.S. customers, there is no import duty or taxes on hobby items or toys. Customers in other countries will usually have to pay import duty and possibly other fees, however.

Anyway, that material can be obtained in other sites other than HLJ.

But, as 1:72 scale, they remain a bit (and in some cases a large bit) offscale for BF:EVo.

[sarcasm]REALLY IT CAN COME FROM OTHER SITES?!?!?!? I NEVER NEW THAT!!!!![/sarcasm]

fanaticus, there are people on her who use 1/72 scale tanks, hell i do Evil does, and there a few others. please dont turn this into a "what scale Bf Evo is" thread... we all know its 1:64, but we still use 1/72, just to stick it to the man. now please chill out dude.

Thanks, but I don't need to chill out... dude...
And sarcasm is another thing that we can do without.

I'm only stating the fact that most 1:72 stowage and accessories like the ones referenced are out of scale in BF:Evo models, and that's a fact, as I've already tried some.

And in the BF:Evo scale line of discussion, if you search back you'll see some threads started by me where I show some models I use, some at 1:72 others at 1:64, so go figure...

Other than, anyone can use whatever he/she wants as models, whatever makes them happy.

They're definately based out of Gunma, Japan. You've got quite a long highway there.

In the UK just get them to mark it as gift and you don't. Most oversea internet retailers know this and do so as standard, the few times I have bought stuff from the states off ebay or elsewhere, I have just asked them to mark this on payment stamp and have never had a problem.

I am not sure what the law is in Portugal Fanaticus, but as we are both part of the EU, the same thing might work for you.

Nope, that trick don't work per si.
Only by pure chance.

The law is the same in the EU, and it is going to be even heavier in the future, as all non-EU purchases - even private ones like EBay - must be accompanied with a full payment statement to be taxed.

my point is that not everywhere has to go through the rigmarole of impirt duties, so you can't use it as a catchall reason for not ordering stuff from Japan. 90% of the time, ordering direct from HLJ, especially if you use their discount preorders works out far cheaper than buying in the shops.

As much as you cannot use your import duty free situation as a catchall reason to ordering stuff outside EU without additional costs, don't you think?

As furthermore, import taxes will be the normal situation determined by law, not specific workarounds and somewhat lucky situations.

And nothing of this restrains me from ordering stuff from anywhere in the world, but I always consider taxes costs in the decision. If the orders arrive free of them, better.
