High Guard News

I have to be honest and say that I was a bit disappointed in the production quality of HG. I can accept some errata, it happens, but to have missing page references and many font changes seems a bit shoddy to me.

Rikki,

The guys at Moongoose rang me yesterday afternoon to confirm my address and I received it this morning, so from a grateful customer, Thank You Very Much. :D :D :D

You know, these misprinted books are collector's items to some of us. These being more valueable because of their faults.
Yeah, like I said earlier, the misprints will be worth a quid or two more in the future than the corrected prints.

Why do I have the feeling that I have been manipulated into saying that....

Got mine Yesterday, and it was pre-ordered back when they first announced it.

mmmmm... The Traveller Goodness, it never ends.

Picked one up yesterday in Forbidden Planet in Bristoll.

I have a mostly empty TOC rather than a Merc TOC, and there are a couple of font resizing whoopsies, as well as many see PAge XX cross references, but all in all the book seems useable. If it weren't for the TOC most people probably wouldn't notice.

Still I'll be joioning the queue for a 'fixed' copy when the reprint happens.

But I wanted to at least have this for when I pick up B5 Traveller next month

Reasonably happy customer.

I shall recycle Matt's standard answer to that question, about a month later.

Though whether that'll be delayed by the wait for the corrected print version I don't know.

I should probably point out that I have no basis for knowing this to be the correct answer, but it's what Matt has said about the last dozen books he's had this question asked of on the forums.

I landed a copy of the Mk I version (mostly absent TOC) this weekend, so they did get "into the wild" in some numbers before the recall. As such, it is probably worth producing errata that addresses both Mk I and Mk II.

'Worth' to you the posessor of one of a handfull of copies that escaped into the wild, is a little different to 'worth' for the person that pays the wages of the writer of the errata ;)

One should also factor in the 'worth' of the company'ds reputation for producing faulty material and correcting it swiftly, to the consumer.

And I found a Mark I with all its errata glory at a local FLGS. Supposedly it arrived 2 days ago. :(

And here sit I , a lone isle of traveller in a sea of 40K NFLGS, still waiting for Amazon.ca to (i) get their allotment and (ii) mail me a copy.

Consider all yourselves (both the Mark I and the Mark II recipients) having gotten the jealous eye (smile)

Ahh weel... mayhap for Christmas?

Take care
