On July 13th, Mongoose Publishing is throwing open its doors to hold an official tournament for the Judge Dredd miniatures game. Heroes of Mega-City One is a yearly Judge Dredd event that pits players against one another in a series of high-powered games to decide who has the greatest gang or force in Mega-City One. This is your opportunity to use some of the more powerful models and personalities in the game, within an official setting!

You can download the tournament pack from; http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/pdf/heroesofmc1.pdf

We have a great range of scenarios planned and some awesome prizes.

This is a great opportunity to meet and play with like-minded gamers, and everyone always has a great time at these events. The Mongoose store will be open with a few new goodies, and prizes will be given for the finest players at the event!

For more information and to pick up a ticket, go to;

http://www.mongoosepublishing.com/miniatures/judge-dredd/rulebook/apocmc1-tournament.html

If you use the coupon code DREDD, you will not be charged postage on the ticket!

Just to let you all know...

We still have a few places available (put another way, we can still squeeze a few more people in), so you have about a week and a half to apply if you want to engage in some exciting battles on the streets of Mega-City One!

Breaking News: We will have a very special 'reveal' to make on the day, and those turning up will have a chance to see something that won't see the light of day for at least another three months!

If you are really into this game, you will not want to miss this...

Evening all, is the event open to a passing spectator. I'm very new to the game and not ready to play tournament games. It would be great to see a few games and pick a few things up from the shop.
I had a demo game Saturday with Noc at Bovington which was great fun. Now to start the painting challenge.

You will fit right in - there are not too many 'experts' at this game at the moment, and every one is very friendly. Depsite it being 'competitive' you will find people actually giving suggestions on what you should and should not do as you play.

I cannot stress enough, it really is a friendly atmosphere, so if you are coming down anyway, you may as well join in!

Hey Nick!

It's well worth joining in the tournement if you're going to be here. When I went to mongoose for the first time, I hadn't played any Judge Dredd at all, but turned up to one of their campaign/open days and jumped straight into playing in the campaign, everyone was really friendly and gave me lots of advice and paitence when I didn't understand/know the rules!

I'm sure you'll have a great time joining in!

Ok you've convinced me, so looking at the costs I could put together 2 riot judges, 2 street judges & a rookie judge for just under 800 points? Just have to paint them first.

Ticket purchased, please be gentle :?

Nick

Sounds legal but do remember you can buy levels up to lvl 5 for 25 pts a level. Hope that helps, if you need anything just pm me.

Chris

Actually, you'll have a problem with the Rookie Judge. For this event all minions must be organised into mobs, which means a minimum of 5. So one rookie by himself isn't allowed. I'd spend the credits on more levels for your heroes instead, then at least it's one less model to paint. :)

Sadly can't make it but trying out a game Wednesday with the current Block war supplement

3 East Meg Judge Heroes - all with Carbines, 1 level 5, 1 Level 5 Psyker, 1 Level 3

and

Appoc War Resistance
2 Street Judges (1 lvl 5, 1 lvl 3), Lvl5 Citi def, 1 Punk Sniper (lvl 5)

Quick question on minions and mobs for this, since the rules for mobs have been updated since this tournament was announced.

Minions with more than 2 hits cannot be put into mobs. Does this mean that we cannot use minions with more than 2 hits in this event? Or should the "with the exception of Fatties who may not be placed in Mobs" from the tournament rules apply to all "big" minions?

That's great, thanks.

(These last minute questions have absolutely nothing to do with the fact that I'm hopelessly unprepared for Saturday).

We've got some nice trophies for the winners of the event - they'll be previewed on Eye on Mongoose on Facebook a little later today!

Do the doors open at 9 or before, Matt do you sell D10's I have a couple but probably need a few more and have you any hardback rule book copies left. Looking forward to a baptism of fire. :D
