Help with a character concept

I was contemplating a character that I might like to play... Truth be told, I just watched Nobody (the movie) and it was very fun. <SPOILER> In the movie, the main character is an "Auditor", which in that world is a "trouble shooter" that has a "... very particular set of skills, skills I have acquired over a very long career. Skills that make me a nightmare for people like you."
Which career do you think best portrays this?
Basically, the character is going to have a storied background (hopefully) and now he works as a mechanic on ships.

Any thoughts would be gratefully accepted.

Maybe Agent.

If it basically involves violence, then yeah: Agent (Intelligence) or Rogue (Enforcer) sound best.

If you're wanting to match the movie, from what I've read, Agent (Intelligence) for sure, with a change to Citizen (Corporate) at some point. But you mentioned ending up as a mechanic, so maybe go with Citizen (Worker)?

One thing is certain, you are not going to get that character with random tables.
Either do something along the lines of rolling a couple of dice per skill and picking the better one or use the alternate CharGen in the Traveller Companion (2024) pg 13-24
Edit: You MIGHT get it in regular character generation, but the odds are that you will create no fewer than ten unless you cheat.

Temper your expectations. Agent or Rogue start with suitable Basic Training suites. After a few terms skills in both careers are going to converge a bit in regards to skills. Many events give an improvement in a known skill, or a choice from a selection.

If it's a "very long career" I expect many characters will suit. What are we talking? Melee, Gun Combat, Recon at 2 to 3 levels each? Both Agent and Rogue give you Streetwise, Recon and Gun Combat. Both have Stealth, Persuade and Deception in either Service or Assigment skills. The main difference is Investigation for Intelligence and Athletics for Enforcer.

And... is he actually skilled to an unreasonable degree? Would the abilities shown in the movie require more than skill level 1 or 2, especially if his opponents aren't as good as they think they are? How much comes down to surprise, preparation, and people underestimating this supposed office guy?

But yeah, if he's the full John Wick, standard character generation might not be adequate.
