Hello, Grenade question ?

Hi

If a grenade goes 1 inch from the hit models center , isn't that a very small blast radius ? Or would 1 inch from the base be too large a radius ? Not sure how the scale translates into real world ranges. I've only tried a couple of trial games with the basic rules so far but the G.launchers don't seem that wound inflicting yet unless the advanced rules change things.
Also could someone list the various contents /sections of the advanced rulebook ? What exactly is added ?

The advance rules add nothing to that.

Grenade launchers have a splash damage of 1". Just consider that a small bonus. Once in a way you catch models that are clumped together, not not often.

True, but if you can get a group clumed together and you have a USMC Force Tecon Team...Ouch!
This is also nasty vs Technicals!

Seems a bit of a waste for a grenade that really will only hit one person most of the time to be used but ????

Let's not get into scale or time, because it is relative to the situation. In other words there is no true scale, and that is fine by me. Just think of it as a weapon that can give you 1D6+1, which is better than a rifle, and once in a while you nail a extra model or two with the splash. Works well against enemy models clumped in a building.

Plus in a recent game report at evo.command.com my MEA got caught by just such fire as they were going up a staircase. I lost big to those grenades. :shock:

-I like the 1" Blast becouse it is actualt easy to get entire Squads hunkered down behined the cover of a burning hulk Technical or M1 and get chewd up by eather the USMC Force Recon or MEA Fadayeen Squad with 3 AT-14 Kornets.
-If you are not happy whith the "Scale" of the 1" Frafmentation Blast [40mm Grenade, Hand Grenade, some Anti-Tank Weapons] you can always use the old WH40k Blast Template & Ordinace one for the 2" Blast, but that makes those units with more than one 40mm Grenade Launcher realy Nasty.
