[Hawkmoon] - where is Secret of Tragic Europe?

Sabbak

Mongoose
All is in the subject: what's up with the annouced supplement "Secrets of...". It has disappeared from the Mongoose schedule!!!!

And Castle Brass still have no illustration, what's up???

Sorry if I missed a message related to that but I can't find any information about that...

'Secrets of the TM' is a campaign. Mongoose Gar can provide more info.

'Castle Brass' is just entering layout, so artwork probably hasn't been assigned yet.

It's now listed as not being released until February... :(

Castle Brass is up as being out next month though. Anyone know what that's about?

Its about... Castle Brass. Well, not just the castle, but the Kamarg, Aigues Mortes, Arles and details the castle itself.

As to Secrets of the Tragic Millenium, I've no idea where it is in the production process. Sorry about that.

Have the french supplements (like "La France" or "La Kamarg") been used as sourcebooks and/or inspirations for that one?
Because they are great!

It would be great if someone in Mongoose staff could provide us with some bits of information...

I've heard really good things about both of them, but the answer is no, they haven't. Its all new.

Dear All,

Yes, there are around 16 French 'Hawkmoon' books (I think it's 16 - could be either 15, or even 17 though...).

My favourite is 'Flesh and Metal'.

Regards

Hi Guys,

The front cover will be up on the website in the next few days. The artist who is doing it has been really ill but is just finishing it. He is also redesigning the logo and doing the cover for castle brass. But fear not, this is the artist who did the cover for Bright Shadows (which certain retailers have called our best cover ever), Elric Companion and Magic of the young Kingdoms....it will be worth the wait!

SO many?
Hmmm... yes, all in all (included the GM screens and the translation/adaptation of Shattered Island) the number should be close to 15!

That's a pretty huge amount of background and scenarios and campaigns for the ones that read french.

Saying that, I can put here a small bit of advertisement for the work of some guys (including myself): that's a french e-zine full of NPC, new rules, backgrounds and scenarios fully dedicated to Hawkmoon.
It is named "LANCE-FEU" (french translation for "Flame-lance" obviously...)
Interested?
Check this link:
http://www.indie-rpg.info/index.php and look for the Lance-Feu supplements (there are 3 of them for now)

Really?
I personnaly think that works like "La France" or even "Les portes du Paradis" are one level better than "Chair et Metal" (even though I like very much Olivier Saraja's work in general!).

Of course I can't say anything about "The Germanic Atlas" or the "Germanic chronicles"... but...

There are 18 books in French, among them 2 core books (that is a boxed set and the new edition book) and 2 screens (with one scenario for each edition). The multiverse campaign "Rogue mistress" was also adapted I think (at least some chapters).
Moreover there is also a quite official (but unpublished) netbook on Sweiss and some Italian regions (you should gather some ressources on the (French) Hawkmoon group on Yahoo).

On the other side, there is also an excellent scenario in German for Stormbringer (which is of course much usable with Hawkmoon) entitled "der Traum des Rotten Gottes (dream of the red god) which occurs in the Eastern Kingdom.
For those interested, this scenario is easily available on ebay.de (and is quite cheap).

Dear All,

OK, my guess of 16 (I didn't get them out from under the bed to check the number) was pretty much spot on, if you excluded the actual rules.

I can highly recommend them as source material, even translating some portions for my Francophobe players - who admitted it was good stuff.

Best regards

You are absolutely right. One of the best things is that each book practically features 1-2 adventures.
