Hawkmoon/Elric Miniatures?

I am so there for the release of these Games, Moorcocks Worlds are fantastic and I can't wait for these!

Does anyone know if they are planning miniatures :D

Games workshop a while back produced a whole line of Elric minis. The old Melnibone minis looked remarkable like their Dark Elves/ High Elves minis.

That's because GW reused them as Dark Elves after the license expired.

Come to think of it the moorcock art in the runequest book looks like a good version of the high elf 'art' ni the GW books. Ah, Gw are shameless, I mean they have stolen so many name and ideas (space marines look like storm troopers, old ones, grimlock, sly marbo (rambo) are just to name a few).

Gods of law eh? Sounds like GW stole that too. I recall them being mentioned in the Warhammer fantasy role play game book...

Indeed the original Warhammer Witch Hunters were mainly servants of the Gods of Law...

Plus the original WFRP had an extra God of Chaos who subsequently vanished...

How long has it been since you saw those figs? 20 years? *shudder*

Here they are in all their glory: http://www.multiverse.org/imagehive/main.php?g2_itemId=64503

Malal indeed, the rogue chaos god. He was not, as far as I know, ripped off as much as the rights/IP of a person that didnt work there for very long.

Glad to see I'm not the only person who painted up that Reaper mini as Elric.

@Spongly
No, the thing ni Mordheim was not malal, it was belakor. GW do not really own malal, as the ownership came into dispute with the guy who created him in his first appearance in the warhammer comic.

I don't suppose someone has a link to a picture of these Elric miniatures for us younger gamers?

Yes they had a vary Elric style anti hero in those ancient tomes (Citadel Journals) complete with Demon weapon (but a axe). Skaven arrived then as well. It wa sa good comic strip bu thave not got it all. The bit I have has a Goddess of law Arianka imprisoned beneath Middenheim and Skaven trying to kill her

"Pretty, Pretty-Pretty," pause "Kill Pretty-Pretty)

GW were inspired by many of Moorcoks ideas I believe (as have a large chunk of fantsy)- but they have, I feel given it there own excellent interperetation.

B5 had two forces of god like power representing Law (Vorlons) and Chaos (Shadows) using minions to decide who was right - sound familiar? :D

Any company that makes money with an "uncredited influence" is stealing. Producing an excellent rip-off does not redeem the company.

And of course, mister Moorcock took the idea of law and chaos from Poul Anderson (who is another of my all time fave writers :) )

And so the cycle continues
