Battlestar Gallactica as either/both space combat or mini game. I know the original series was lame but it could provide fodder for other races besides human/cylons.
I just hope the licence Sovereign Press got is very specific and only covers the RPG... All too often the miniatures game rights tend to get bundled in with these things and end up being held by companies that have no intention of ever using them
Personally though I'm using the BSG-lookalike "Galactic" and "Zylon" minis from here

The cap ships are pretty good (and a decent price), and the fighters are really nice (and about an inch long so you can go to town on the details)
Right. I talked to Margaret Weiss at ComicCon and there's definetely an RPG on the way, using what's more or less the core mechanics of the Serenity RPG.
I remember reading on TMP a few months ago that Mongoose could have the license for BSG as a minis game but TPTB wanted to see if BSG had staying power.
I think FASA did put a board type combat game for Battlestar Gallactica along the lines of their Star Trek starship combat game,
a long time ago (before my time)

Given that I like the Serenity system, I'll take this as good news

yes they did ,thouth the game was a fighter cmbt game, not a starship cmbt game the map was laid out in 3 sections, with the galactica and cylon basestar printed on to a map section each and a map with clear space was placed between them
Or mine! It was quite fun for a quick skirmish or two.
I remember that both the Colonials & Cylons had 3 types of craft - fighters (2 guns, 2 torpedoes), interceptors (3 guns) and bombers (1 gun, 3 torpedoes). Only torps could harm a cap ship so you needed to escort your bombers into the target without leaving your own cap ship exposed.
I'm sure I still have my copy somewhere.
