Happy St. Patricks Day!

My Guinness mug's been filled with tea, recently, which is what fuels my writing, but I had some Guinness at the weekend, so Slainte!

Well it's Irish for one. That and in the past it seems to be a bit of a favorite among some posters here.

Personally, I always drink Guiness on St. Patty's day because around here people have the nasty habit of coloring beer green with food coloring, and I've always refused to drink green beer. Guiness is green proof. Brilliant!

You can swallow a bear?

You must be pretty big, or the bear is pretty small. :-)

I was told once that beer was refreshing. Thus I swallowed some but all had either the taste of glass or metal.
Then I thought it might have misunderstood. Then I happened to enter a cavern during a cold winter and saw an bear.
I remember then that bear (or beer) had to be swallowed whole at one go. Though it was somewhat difficult and the fur had to digest I managed to do it and it was warm.
That's why I can say that though bear are best served cold, I prefer when they're warm and sleeping.

But seriously, did you really believe there were still bear in Irland?

Guinness is good all year round, not only on St Paddy's day. There is no actual connection between the two except that they are Irish(except maybe St Pat,who may have been Welsh).
Have to say though, that there is nothing quite as disconcerting as that green tinged beer they serve up in fake Irish pubs the world over.
Give me a pint o' the black stuff any time, and please don't put a shamrock on the head. That's another thing I hate at this time of the year.

On that note ....

Two Englishmen are on holiday in Ireland and they go to a pub. One of them says "Watch this, Bert!", goes up to the barman, winks at his friend and says "Hey! Did you know that St Patrick was an Englishman?". The barman replies "No, I didn't know that" and carries on behind the bar. The Englishman walks back to his friend, a bit disappointed at the barman's reaction. Bert gets up, says "I'll have him", goes up to the barman and says "Hey! Did you know that St Patrick was an absolute f***ing c**t?", "To be sure," replies the barman, "didn't your friend just tell me the same thing?".

That's it! Why do you all talk Guinness when you can have some Paddy, some cream and some warm coffee.

Well here's a joke my Dad told me the other day.

There is a brewers convention and after a long day at then show, three head brewers from major companies go to the bar to have a drink.

The Budweiser head brewer asks the barman for a cold bottle of Bud.
The Coors head brewer orders a draught Coors.
The Guiness head brewer orders a pint of lemonade.

The three sit down at the table, the Coors brewer looks at their drinks and asks the Guiness brewer "Why are you drinking lemonade?"

To which the Irishman replies "Well if you two aren't going to drink beer, neither am I!"
