G'Quon Heavy Battle Station

Da Boss

Mongoose
G'Quon Class Heavy Defence Station Battle Level

The Narn, having found the G'Quon class Cruiser a liability in many battles converted a large number of these hulls into defence stations. Their crews delight in being able to pour fire into approaching enemies in a way unavailable to their ship bourne compatrioits. In addition they boast advanced defences and sensors undreamed off by the poor Cruiser crews....

Gentleman and Ladies which G'Quon would you use

:D

What? No O/S e-mine?

I can't possibly live without that!

Plus, why on earth would I want an extra 4" range on my Ion Cannons? 8" is perfectly adequate! ;)

I'll get me coat!

Dave

I agree... waste of space that ion cannon... heck and the command deck... more fighters to properly use the fleet carrier trait!

Blah... good idea that just isn't working.

Ripple

to get the Fleet Carrier trait I need the Command Module

but yeah its a great idea that is not working at present.

This took minutes to work up and is obviously overpowered for its PL and probably virtually unkilliable.

To make it silly - Icould have dropped the fighters to give it another 120 points of damage

Strip out all of the modules, and give it 20 Ion Cannons. Gives it 320 damage points, still.

White Stars (or any other short ranged fleet) attack... no problem they gotta come within 12", so they're gonna take 160 ADs TL!!!

Under the Triggy Space Station Version it becomes

better but I would still take this over the ship..............

It's a hell of a lot closer and this may actually depend on who you are facing (hull 4 vs hull 6 is a very big difference). It's a good benchmark of where we're at with the station rules though.

I disagree that Hull 4 vs Hull 6 is a major difference when it comes to a Station - the station can soak almost double the amount of damage than a G'Quan can, and the crits are *nowhere* near as debilitating as ship crits and, importantly, auto-repair.

In this particular case, this is still a far, far, better spend of a Battle FAP over a G'Quan but that's a function of both the G'Quan itself and these Space station rules.

However......

Ignoring the G'Quan itself, your revised Space Station rules/stats are a *vast* improvement over what is in V1.2 - they are at least at a stage where they worth actually playtesting for balance whereas what is in V1.2 are not.

So, major props for that! This is much closer to a finished product than any of the prior incarnations. Any chance you can get Matt to slip then into V1.2 so we can have a V1.2a?

Dave
