Glorantha MRQ vs MRQ2

I own most of the MRQI books and I just bought MRQ2 (nice revision by the way).
I am getting ready to start a Glorantha campaign. I want to know, what is the difference between the old and the new Glorantha the Second Age books?
Should I buy the new book? If so... why? :?:
Does the new Glorantha the Second Age contain any sort of game mechanic or is it just descriptions of lands & cultures?

While I'm at it... what supplemental books are you finding to be essential, and which are .... less so.

Thanks

MRQ2 Glorantha has additional information that the MRQ1 edition does not. It is 260 pages compared to 160 pages, and the type is smaller and they have done away with the huge, space wasting borders so the words per page is much higher, so I'd say there is about twice as much content to the MRQ2 version.

It includes the contents of the Ralios PDF, as well as some material from Magic of Glorantha (notably Draconic Mysticism) and material from the Players Guide to Glorantha.

I'm not sure how much Draconic Mysticism has changed from MoG since I've only skimmed that section.

The Players Guide type material includes chargen for all the major cultures of Glorantha, including things like Backgrounds and Professions as well all things like important Grimoire spell lists for the prevelant sorcery orders in each region (where sorcery applies of course) in the region. This information is human only, I expect the non-human chargen will be in the updated races books (as will the non human cults).

Nothing in the 1st edition of Glorantha is rendered obsolete, but there is enough additional material to justify purchasing the new book. Along with cults these two books should be everything you need to play a Human in Glorantha, with the Races Books covering non humans.
