Here we have two Orbit-class assault landers and a Zustellar heavy assault lander plying their way through space after launching from HFS Shadowstrike, a Shadowstrike-class strike carrier.

Here is a view of the strike carrier HFS Shadowstrike used by the Hub Federation to carry troops into battle. The modified Vulkan-class ship carries two Zusteller-class heavy assault landers and four Orbit-class assault landers. Information on all of these vessels is included in the upcoming Hub Federation Ground Forces.

Looking good!

A bit funny, when I first saw the Orbit class lander and thought about how to use it, one of my first ideas was to simply replace a couple gunboats on the Vulkan...

(After pondering the idea of removing some or all bay weapons from a Moltke and replacing them with landers and troops, somewhere along the way I realized how much space would be needed)

The Hub Federation Navy has a 2500dT Intrepid class assault carrier, HFS Illustrious (ex RN) that can carry two companies of Marines, some armour but only two assault landers. The Shadowstrike class addresses this carrying capacity shortfall but at the expense of the Intrepid classes formidable ortillery armament.

A win-win.

Actually, HFS Illustrious will get a full treatment in a later book. It is not in this one. HFS Shadowstrike does get a full treatment in this book.
