Gionetti class Light Cruiser

Honestly, I'm trying to make logical changes to existing designs within the current assumptions of the setting and rules. the Imperium has been TL15 for something like 300 years, they should have worked out the kinks on "newer" designs like this a long time ago.
It has?

Is this another setting change snuck in by Mongoose writers?

I swear I read something that said it was in the 800's but looking at the timeline information I find in a goggle search it looks like it was in 1002 that it was officially declared TL 15. So 100 years. With TL 14 only being 100 years before that. So compared to the previous TLs, advance was ridiculously fast from TL 13 to TL 15. so TL 14 and 15 designs aren't as mature as I thought, though they are pretty settled in at this point.

The Megatraveller Referee's Companion says TL15 is reached around 1000. That's according to someone on the interwebz. Like Vincennes, it won't have been prevalent for a while after.

The trouble is the game designer for HG2022 changed the rules, so within the setting the Imperium has had over 100 years to find out how to build TL15 warships according to those rules, they have even fought a short war with them.

In point of fact according to Mongoose Traveller rules the Imperium has had experimental TL15 technology since ~300.

But the rules do a lousy job of producing the setting as it existed before the rules changed.

So either the rules need to change to model the setting, or the setting elements, ie the warship designs, need to be brought in line with the rules.

Which means spinals are not worth any investment, imagine a 500,000t Tigress without its spinal but with 50 500t meson bays with very long range advantage and 50 500t particle bays with very high intensity...

The Imperium has had an overall civilian TL of 15 since ~1000, but Agent of the Imperium has the IN using TL15 jump 6 ships in the 700s.

According to canon the Imperium was overall civilian TL14 in 700, according to MgT rules that means experimental TL15 warships can be constructed from that point onwards. If you really want to be pedantic with Mongoose rules you could go back as far as TL13 for worlds to be experimenting with TL15...

The Azhanti class was still considered cutting edge in the Rim War, but I would guess technological level fifteen Imperium Navy starwarships started appearing towards the end of it.
