I think the decks look fine. I have seen many different ways they have been painted.

Bit of an update:

I've had my eyes on the Hasegawa 1/700 Waterline series for a bit, so when my local shop had one on the shelf, I snapped it up.

USS Alabama (South Dakota-class BB)

Still WIP, but I think I'm down to only 50 or so of the 72 20mm AA guns included.

Nice - far better detail than the 1/3000 I've got.

How long is it? What's the beam?

Length ~290mm, beam 53mm, model height 63mm. Not good for VaS, but I'm looking forward to grabbing a few larger scale Japs for display eventually.

Yeah, that would make a nice display piece - put it on a decent seascape and it'll look fantastic - the detail is really nice too.

few times. Play outside and use the same ground scale as the model scale
