On the basis that the Centauri were under Shadow influence at least as long as Clark's EA, here is my next ship to get the Shadowesque treatment;

I see this modified vessel and a few others still to be made, as coming from a renegade house fleet.

I have also decided to have a go at writing up a telepath war supplement based around Psi Corp & Black Ops + a few semi allied others. Who knows these Centauri may make a guest appearence.

Sweet!
Don't let Da Boss see it, he'll want one.
In red (ORANGE :wink: ) of course.

Thanks Funbeast - On Da Boss' Centauri, Yeah.........definitely think there is a some Narn influence there. :lol:

oooh.. looks like 2 or 3 of those could shred a Shadow Omega to pieces.. :twisted:

Nice, sharp highlights.. gotta try that next time :)

Ah, You haven't seen the Shadow Primus yet.

For that matter neither have I,............ but it is in the plan.

After all had to do something special with the larger IWM Primus I've got.

Or a Shadow Balvarin.. Which, BTW, is also slightly larger, despite not being listed as a remastered model.

Is it now, ...................maybe even a Balvarix.

Guessing the cast is very good then?

My 2 Balvarins + my Balosian variant suffered from a lot of excess flash, that was often impossible to remove completely, without ruining other fine detail.

Compared to the MGP ones, they're heavenly.. Some trimming on the fins, a turret or two to patch.. That's all.. :)

Guess that another "last" minute order for IWM then. Along with my next "not BSG" ships purchase, my new excuse is (a) very nice quality minis (albeit hi price) and (b) aim to also use these as a B5 race prroxy fleet, but thats a post for Monday when I should have a painted IWM Orion finished.

hmm ..................I knew there must be a good reason why I have 2 Vorchans painted up in Narn colours, in my Narn fleet.

Long live the Khari.

Very cool. 8) I love the nice sharp contrast between the centauri, and shadow bits.

Thanks Banichi, took me longer than I care to admit, and at least 1 abortive attempt, to get the colour scheme just right to show that although clearly Shadow influenced the ship is, first of all, Centauri.

Here a few shots of some of the ships I painted over last weekend;

First of all a couple of proxy ships I am going to use for a B5 race;

Then something a bit more conventional. Tried a new style for this one. Not perfected yet but stilll pleased as a first try;

Wow! Keep it up. Also, don't be shy about posting your techniques for painting like this. I'm a rank newbie when it comes to painting and could use all the advice I can get from skilled artisans like yourself.

thanks for the comments guys.

Never been known to be shy about writing the occasional paint guide :lol:

Firm believer in them myself, since I have, (& still am) benefited from posted fan pics on this forum many a time, over the years.

Let me tie this technique down a little more and I will be happy to put my pennys worth in, and of course need to take some pics as I go along of course.

Enjoying your epic battles and blog on the Dilgar by the way - great stuff.

And on the same subject I am painting my first true Dilgar ship at the moment and finally managed to tie down the mottling effect as shown in the Mongoose fleet pics. When it finally sunk in, was a really obvious technique and easy to do as well - doh. Thats probably next weeks post and I can do a guide for this as well if people are interested.
