just a quick thing.

concerning the fire zone, i specify a point i want to be the centre of the zone then anything in a circle with a 12" dia may be hit?

or have i got it wrong

Anything can be hit, but hits are applied to the closest eligible target. Actually it says highest damage dice is applied to closest target and work your way back. So that may effect who is hit.

Basically you find the center point, and measure 6" from it in all directions, so it forms a circle.

It goes in a circle around the center point and the highest damage die roll is applied to the closest target, then the next highest to the next closest and so on until all of the die rolls have been applied. Once all of the dice have been applied, then the remaining dice can be applied as the shooter sees fit.

does the 6" rule apply vertically too? e.g. If there are enemies on the ground, balcony and rooftop.

Ooo, now there's a twist. I am inclined to think that it would focus on whatever elevation the Fire Zone is targeted on, but I have no idea what the official opinion would be.
