I also enjoyed this article, and am looking forward to the next part.
For what it is worth, I have also learnt that key and legend are acceptable terms when it comes to maps.
One thing though, how long ago was this article written? I can't help but feel that Misha and 'Ratter' would be better off as Vagabonds than Experts.
Aside from that everything was fine and I look forward to any future guides you may produce.

I began work on this after detailing the Kai Monastery for my own Lone Wolf game, probably a week after the Core Rules were released (and my local RPG shop got the book in.)

I needed a detailed City for my campaign and then the idea struck me that I could share it with the rest of the Lone Wolf fans and Mongoose, so I approached them :)

So this was well before the Vagabond class was available.

I've also missed a fair few S&P since my local shop either didn't get them, or sold out almost immediately. Of course there's nothing stopping anyone from converting Misha and Ratter to Vagabonds :)

May I also suggest the icy fortress of Ikaya and the Caverns of Kalte underneath and around it?

I'd really enjoy that myself. I could probably doodle a map of the parts of the fortress Lone Wolf can access in the gamebook if that helps (considering how he doesn' get to go everywhere). I could probably do something similar with the ice caverns too but it wouldn't look too fantastic, legible it would be but artistic, well it wouldn't look too ugly and would be a working point/bit of research.

Ideally what I'd like to do is contribute as much as I can to the Lone Wolf world via S&P so any ideas like this, are always welcome. The Caverns of Kalte gamebook I have somewhere in my vast collection of stuff.

A map like that would probably help me get an idea of what's available to play with for certain - always useful to engage in that kind of research, then its just a case of extending/filling in the blanks. The same with the ice caverns, as for artistic and so on, you should see my maps ;) which is why I utilise Hellion's artistic skill when/where I can.

Hi there!

I have just printed tha Port Bax article (and not read it yet) and I can say that I really like the maps and all the character pictures! very fun and nice ones! In fact, I prefer these drawings rather than those of the core book.
Yes, that's my point of view!

Only one thing looks odd for me: the map of Port Bax is very "small", I mean that the city looks very small, like a big village rather than the secound city of Durenor. That's my only "complain"

Otherwise, I would like to see a description of Varetta.
This is a very interesting city, full of roleplaying possibilities. On the opposite, I'm not very found of Bor dwarves (even if the description of a dwarven stronghold could be great) and icy wastes... :)

Okay, well I'll see what I can doodle but don't expect anything soon. It might take me a while (plus I have other commitments).

That isn't a problem :) Take your time, there's a lot of material I can cover if I put my writing hat on.

Hi. Do you think you will trace out the "Silent Brotherhood, Lachlan's notorious secret police?"
I still remember its orange door even 15 years after my first book reding!

Thanks! I am however not the artist, that dubious honour goes to Hellion who will be more than happy to add her own comments I am sure. She has been working on a picture of one of the Kai, just to see what you folks think.

I suppose it depends on relative sizes since Lone Wolf's world is a medieval one, to make the city any larger might have seemed a bit false - again though, I didn't do the map. I royally suck at any kind of art except minature painting :)

Otherwise, I would like to see a description of Varetta.

Shhh, don't mention you don't like Bor or you'll have the Gunners here up in arms (hahahah I kill me) (ahem)...thanks for the feedback and Varetta would be an interesting place to do :)

Regards and respect, Darren :)

Its all material for consideration, it depends in the end what Mongoose would like to publish for S&P but if you're happy with Port Bax then I don't see why I can't contribute more to the LW world for the magazine.

Ops, I thought the Silent Brotherhood was located in Port Bax.
Perhaps I made a mistake. I just remember it was in book 2.
I have to check the book, maybe it was in Ragadorn.
If so, forgive me for my error.
