Forward Observer?

Hopeless

Mongoose
Picked up Hogarth's Heroes off of drivethrurpg and it lists this skill.

I can't find it in the book and assume its a speciality of the Gunner skill, can any of you either correct or confirm this?

So I should treat it as a new Heavy Weapons speciality?

Well it at least fits the Career basic skills at least!
Thank you!

Or for a Tactics or for a Capital Weapons specialty. I just make up skill names on the fly for players. The beauty of Mongoose.

I sometimes apply a DM to skills like this based on unfamiliar militaries, as well as tech and weapon type. Won't matter so much in Imperial Space, but somewhere like the Spinward Marshes could cause problems. Your FO calls in an orbital strike but these guys in orbit put the co-ordinates in a different order from those guys in orbit, and the FO ends up calling the strike on the wrong target.

When I was in artillery we all had basic FA training (mostly theory and a few paper exercises). So that would be a natural place to start.

It's as much art as science. When you get the proper experience you can do wonders. Now you still have to hope the gun bunnies put the right # of powder bags in the shot, but that's pretty much standard wishing and praying when you call for fire support.
