Fleet Landing Party Now Available!

Does that cover mail order too then?

Matt, I'm loving that you're reading and contributing to the thread so much (especially today), the banter is great and it's all good fun - except you seem to have commented on everyone else's posts, comments and queries except mine, and I've asked you a couple of (well intentioned and hopefully polite) direct questions... any chance of an answer for me too?

My apologies - I didn't intentionally miss you out. I went through your post, but seem to have completely missed the last sentence :)

Illness was not the only factor that affected the Fleet Landing Party, as there were some issues with production as well. However, we have already taken on more staff in the miniatures facility, as well as established new deadlines for incoming orders so, in theory, that should not happen again *

As I said earlier, Fleet Landing Parties are on their way to the UK right now, and will be turned around the same day they arrive. I am just awaiting confirmation that those in the US have already been sent out.

* Proponents of the Cock-Up Theory will be familiar with this phrase.

Cheers Matt, and many thanks - I know that's not an actual ETA, but at least it might stop me getting quite so grumpy at my daily lack of figures for another week or so...

(Plus the bonus Thorny Tanker you're sure to add in gratis will help too, obviously... )

I just received a contact from Ted Chang, who is going to be monitoring the U.S. side of the supply. He said that he'll let me know just as soon as they are shipping. I'll drop a note here when I get my two sets of them, as that would "buck up" the collective morale here and show progress on this topic. :D

there is absolutely no one on these forums qualified to comment on how this company runs

How do you know that for a fact . . . . . . . . . . . .

Because there is only one person in the world who has all the facts. . .

Yes, Buddha.

:)

Cheers Matt, sorry to be all argumentative and stuff, it just shows we are passionate. :P

Still waiting on mine as well.

Good news is I won an auction for some control bugs and another auction on the oop Legions of Steel Fantasian Quads set I used to make my first 3 Mobile Infantry ATVs.

Well, maybe not _all_ the facts :)

I know - that is why I have never minded discussions like this. It would be far worse if no one was talking about it at all!

and the squeaky gurkha gets the Machine gun :P

Whoa! We're now talking about shooting Gurkhas with machine guns???

Trust me on this: this is something you absolutely do not want to do. Just ask the Argentinian army...

Regards.

They left survivors from that war? Wow. The Gurkhas must have gotten soft!

Rob, if it was you in a tank versus an unarmed Ted Chang, I'd still bet on Ted.

LBH
Actually, I would too.
I'm sure any infantry could run circles around one tank with no support. Just jump on and get in the hatch and beat me up hand-to-hand. :P

After nearly a year away, I was delighted to see new mins in the SST range. The Fleet Landing Party looks like an interesting addition to an MI force.

Nice sculpts, but there's just one nagging problem in my silly little head. Most of, in fact I think all of them are dudes. It's only bothersome in certain parts of my head because most of the fluff and other sources(Mongoose's SST RPG books I've bought, the original novel) I've read usually point out that the clear majority of Fleet personnel are female.

But that's gotta be my only nagging little complaint. The inclusion of a movie Morita was a nice touch, though.

I agree. But, since most of the female sculpts we saw were, well, not the kind of lass I'd buy a drink for at the bar, i think I'll keep my wishes to myself.

You have me there. The faces on the female cap troopers and the LAMI do feel a little "off" at times.

One day, someone is going to say something like that, only to find the sculpt was based on Ted Chang's girlfriend :)

Yea, but who'll end up with the real grief - whoever says it then, the sculptor(s) or... er... you for suggesting it now? :D

This would no doubt become very confusing and confounded if Ted was married...
