Fleet Box Fighter Question

Keep your hair on. :) The ancient Shadow ship carries 6.

I don't have enough hair not to

But seriously. we rarely play big enough games to warrant armagedon ships. If I used four ancient shadowships in a game my opponant would have to nearly use every EA and Centauri ship I have to match them. Ahh, I shouldn't complain, this is the only thing I've heard about 2e thats annoyed me. Everything else sounds cool.

But you said:
WHAT!!! That was just about the only redeaming feature of shadowfighters that you could shoot 6 flights at once and swamp an area of the table in them.

Which would imply you were using Armageddon-level Shadow ships. If you do use the Ancient Shadow Ship (Armageddon level) you can still shoot 6 fighters. No change.

Granted the Young ship (war) has less than the Hunter.

But I also said that we don't use armagedon. Not through any dislike, I just dilly dallied about getting it, then decided to wait for 2e. I use war level shadow ships from sfos.

I see. Sorry, I read 'We rarely play big enough games to warrant armagedon ships', and infered that you did sometimes.

Well I hope you'll find the improvements on the 2e Shadow ship (shields, relatively improved self repair, better range) make up for the loss of fighters.

No worries. I'm looking forward to trying the new shadows. It is always interesting to see how a new mechanic works in a game, whether or not it makes you change how you play. I guess my fighters will be rocking in from hyperspace from now on. (if the senario allows it)
