Not a production model by any means, but a first casting of the Bismarck;

Looks good..... are you going to include some Aircraft ? -- You can't have the Bismark without the Ark Royal and a few Fairey Swordfish's....

It is indeed a well detailed model!

The article mentions that Sandrine created two versions of the Richelieu and every variant and sister ship of everything down to cruiser level. So I'm looking forward to seeing the 1941 version of the Bismarck with radar and a full complement of 10.5cm Flak - useful when those Swordfishes come calling. ;)

The Ark Royal model is already done :)

And yes, aircraft are on the way too - we have an idea of how we want them to look, just figuring out the best way of doing it...

Three, including the Jean Bart...
I didn't include the Jean Bart because that's a different ship, just as Tirpitz is different from Bismarck. ;) What I'm interested to know is if there will be a later version of Bismarck as there will be for Richelieu... Or, for that matter, HMS Hood with and without the 5.5" secondary guns.

Entirely possible...

BISMARCK

Lower 15" turret ring too high.

Bases are way too thick.

See lower guns, almost flat on deck.

There are several useful photos and diagrams here:

I agree with Easterner and rbecker1, the gun rings are too tall, and not just the lower ones. Compare the height of B turret in any of those pictures to the prototype model - the roof of the turret should be about level with the forward superstructure and the ring should be about half as high as it is wide. (This photo best shows Bismarck as depicted in the model, in 1940 with half the 10.5cm Flak and all the main rangefinders still to be fitted.)

I've seen the 3D model that this was printed from, and the barbette height on that model is good, so can we assume from this that the turrets are cast separately and then fixed to the model afterwards? if so then its an assembly issue rather than a problem with the model itself.

Adrian is correct on the upper turrets. I didn't mention it because of 'cause and effect' the uppers are too high because the lowers are too high. Hopefully lowering one lowers the other.
