First game with proper minis :D (pics)

Sounds good, but are those bunkers going to be resently made, or part of the city prior to the war? . Oh and why does your factory in the game pics have no roof like this: |\ |\ |\ |\ |\ ? Yet it has the frame on top.

cuz i havnt built that bit yet ;) silly boy, not a single item of terrain is finished yet but its good enough to block lines of site so we can play some games ;) it was use WIP terrin or play on a green table with trees and hills, we are a little bored of trees and hills to be honest.

So how easy is this Amera stuff to clean up (website says some bits require some cutting) and paint up?

Mind you since I don't have my own gaming table here, I might just take a look at the prepainted stuff T MAn Bristol are selling this weekend.

LBH

it takes a bit of initiative to get it right, instructions dont instruct realy.

for you LBH it would probably just stay flat packed ;)

I have done one multi-level building. It consisted of two sides, and four floors.

Each peice needed excess plastic cutting off the edges. The windows needed to be cut out. The two sides needed gluing and the floors gluing in. It was very easy.

I painted a PVA/sand mix on to to add texture then sprayed grey and dry brushed.

They look very nice, but they do need a bit of sanding I think.
I feel they are too smooth. They also need to be based on a solid surface (especially the vac-formed ones) like plywood or thin MDF (yeah, its still legal here). Also some rubble etc for brownie points.
Cheap and effective, two of my favourite words when it comes to scenery, especially when the two are met together with the word 'easy'.

This article gives a VERY GOOD guide to painting the Amera Vac-Form scenery. Mr Dallimore is a great figure painted and you can see more pictures of his Amera Projects here

They are a great way to cover a gameboard quickly and with some quality stuff. The big buildings are great for SST etc.... real 10" high stuff.
Also, once assembled they retain some flexibility, so really easy to store.
Just don't land any CHAS units on the edges unless you reinforce them first :)
The other big advantage is they are really 'general' so no gothic architecture or stupid eagles that make them look out of place.
They could easily be SST, Stalingrad, near future or even 40K

Those pics are excellent. Loving the scenery. I've read the Dallimore article and while I was a little unsure at first I think I was focusing too mush on the fact he was using the not so good Sci-Fi outpost rather than any of this really nice looking scenery.

FOW stalingrad methinks too!!!

I think I'll be investing heavily in Amera products, especially the roads rivers and Industrial buildings!

I just recieved my first shipment from Amera this week....I cannot endorse it enough. I intend to paint it at the weekend so no pics yet.

Prep wise it's not too bad just make sure you've got a sharp craft knife for the out lines and windows of bigger buildings. Value wise it's stunning. I got ALOT for my fifty quid and it all arrived intact and correct. I got a couple of the large buildings, 4 small ruined buildings, tank traps, low walls, 6 pieces of road (one shelled). It is really nice stuff for the money.

Once i get them done i'll post a photobucket link to it.

Oh, forgot to say, looked like a great battle Mr Evil. Nice to see the PLA getting beaten gives me a little faith before i take on my bro's PLA at the weekend. Might hold off on a battle report though as all my terrain is unpainted and white at the moment :(

Good job mate

Don't let that put you off the more examples of games I see the better and I wouldn't mind seeing some more of this stuff preprocessed!
