Fighter dispersal tube

Hi

the fighter dispersal tube seems to say its fires in the firing phase instead of the main beam - when do the fighters apear - then?

Again the rules implie they apear in that pahase as they may not take any action in the turn - so can't launch them onto a ship or do they appear in the EOT phase.

Obviously it makes a difference as to if they can be shot at when they appear?

Unofficial, but it looks to me that the fighters appear in the firing phase (the tube is classed as a weapon) but can't act until the next game turn, other than defend themselves if enemy fighters attacked them. So no firing a swarm of spitfires onto an enemy ship (the terms "spitfire" and "battlecrab" come from the tech guides on the DVD box sets, so I suppose they're at least semi-canon), just a really fast way to deploy your carried fighters.
