Federation fleet so far

Excellent conversion guide. If I ever pick some Feds up I may have to give this a go myself. Heck, its tempting to buy a strike cruiser just to try this. :P

If you're going to buy a ship specifically to make a DD get a CA. You don't have to scrape stuff off of the saucer and the engine struts are eaisier to remove. If your going for a later setup with lots of drones like a DE/A or DDG then use a strike cruiser!
I used the strike cruisers as I was missing an engine from the one from my resin fleet and used the left engine from my metal fleet to rebuild a CA. Plus I hate the strike cruiser design. Don't know why they just don't do it for me!

I don't know where you got the $100 price from, but from Tenneshington Decals order form, the prices are:

Federation Fleet Boxes $35.00
Federation Squadron Boxes $20.00
Individual Ship Sheets $5.00
5 individual Sheets for $20
Domestic Shipping $5.00
International Shipping $15.00

and you get 2 copies of each ship in case of an accident. If everything goes fine you have a spare set to trade or "bash" as you did for the Saladin.

2 fleet boxes = $70
5 extra heavy cruisers = $20
international shipping = $15
total = $105

And thats assuming I get the saladin names and numbers put down for the strike cruisers and battlecruiser on the fleet sheet.
I have been tempted to get 1 fleet set just for the extras bits as the spare seconds on everything would allow me to do all of the fleets with the mongoose decals on them from pretty much a single tenneshington fleet sheet.

You have 4 fleet boxes and 10 extra heavy cruisers? (that or you assume your success rate at applying sheet is around 50%)

Correct me if I'm wrong but 2 of each on the sheet includes the names and numbers doubled too. So unless I want 2 of every name on my fleet I am going to need 2 different sheets right? The extras are for if it goes wrong and of course you will never no which one is going to go wrong until it does so 2 of everything on a sheet makes sense.

I don't think playing a game where I have to explain that this Enterprise is different from that Enterprise will really work and I really cant be bothered with trading names with people.

However had I not converted and chopped names I could have got everything out of a single mongoose sheet. (barring of course the cool frilly bits on the tenneshington sheets).

*oops*

Silly me :D

Well okay that did not work out...

Geoff,
Both fleets look amazing! Really nice job. Definitely an inspiration to finish my Klingons post haste.

And yeah, the base markings look great too- very "Star Trek".

Keep posting stuff,
Dave
