Evade as a Combat Style

You mean when creating a character, some characters do not want any combat skills, and want to instead invest the skill points they would gain from their combat style into the evade skill?

Yes - sorceror, healer, that sort of thing.

How do you think Evade as a Combat Style would work? An opponent strikes with a weapon and the Evade character counters with evade continually? That would create problems with Combat Manoeuvres and complicate matters to quite a high degree.

This was part of the reason we removed Dodge and redefined Evade. I think what you're suggesting (if you're suggesting it in the way I think you are) could be a retrograde step.

But do correct me if I've misinterpreted your idea.

Another side-effect of the change to dodging is that, when it is employed, it leads to an odd, dramatically unsatisfying outcome. I win initiative, I win a contested Evade roll, and you can't hit me no matter what your weapon reach or skill is but I can hit you. Or is that a misinterpretation of Outmanoeuvre? (at last, I think I've got the hang of spelling that without checking it)
