Energy weapon batteries

Hi,

Where in the core rule book does it say how long the batteries for energy weapons last for?

TIA

Under the magazine entry on the table. Page 100 "Energy Weapons".

Magzine: The number of shots the weapon can take before needing to be reloaded or connected to a new power pack.

I think what he meant was how long say, a fully charged power cell would last just sitting on a shelf or if you had one plugged into your rifle in hostile territory where you couldn't recharge it, but also was not using it.

If i'm totally off base with my assumption of your question IanBruntlett, please hit me with a salmon and I'll zip my lips!

At TL12 I would expect (based on modern battery behavior) that a battery will normally have no problem going on and off the charging station with no loss of capacity, and probably bleed off a shot's equivalent (which is a LOT of juice) over a month or so. Possibly longer.

Too fast a bleed and the battery becomes dangerous to handle casually. When the battery is built to push killing power through a laser in a second or less, even a shot-a-day bleed means the battery lights up nearby lightbulbs by induction.

Hi AndrewW,

Thanks for that. Spot on.

BTW Woas, it _would_ be nice to know how long a battery's shelf life is.
