Suggestions sought - long journey from Steel (Sword Worlds subsector) to Gorram (Lunion subsector)

Emperor Mongoose
Hi,

I'm getting ready to run Mongoose's Marches adventure "Search and Rescue". I have the JTAS books as well as the usual Mongoose books.

1. I was wondering if anyone knew of small encounters I could slip into the game without derailing the current adventure arc yet still have the Travellers appreciate that it is a long journey.

2. Gorram also has an interesting starport:
"Gorram Station is a modest installation consisting of a
set of mooring points on long gantries surrounding two
large cylindrical modules which look suspiciously like
the gutted hulls of old freighters. One of the modules
houses a mini-starport with a few shops and bars, plus
accommodation for the installation’s personnel. The
other is a hangar and maintenance facility for small craft."

I was wondering roughly what the dimensions of the two large cylindrical modules should/could be. Or even which old freighters would be likely candidates for use in this situation.

TIA,

Ian

As for ideas to use for mini-adventures when they are traveling? No idea.

As for how big the "modules" would be. Light, Medium, and Heavy Freighters range from 2,500 dtons to 499,999 dtons.

I am a great fan of vignettes which I throw into the mix, Something for your consideration:

Gorram have implemented an "Air Tax" - 20Cr per person, per day to upgrade the air supply system. Several station inhabitants are upset at the tariff whilst others have taken the tax to imply the air supply system is likely to fail and have taken to wearing vacc suits with helmets near to hand whilst onboard the station. During the Travellers stay, the air supply groans and finally breaks. When the air supply is reinstated at low pressure from emergency tanks, the Station Master tannoys asking for spares which co-incidentally only the Travellers have on their ship - or suitable repair facilities within their engineering space. Either way, the station needs a reliable supply of air which could come from the Travellers ship but would mean them staying docked until the air supply is fixed. The travellers may seek some information or advantage for helping the Station Master and you could string this out for a while and weave other hooks into it

Interesting. I've found the "Megula Freighter" on page 274 of High Guard Upate 2022.

Off hand, do you know where I can find Light, Medium and Heavy Freighters can be found?
