Careful where you get your latest news on this. Some sites aren't doing much, if anything, filtering of the news before proclaiming the miracle of propulsion.

I found this one to be pretty good at explaining things. Essentially in Dresden scientists have not proven anything, though they did eliminate some of the things that they couldn't previously explain.

And we are still left with an apparent "hole" in the laws of physics on exactly how this damn thing works in the first place. What's not disputed is that it does indeed work, though nobody can come up with the exact science just yet. It's good to know we haven't solved all the mysteries of the universe. We probably will right after men figure out women, and vice versa!

That doesn't come until after pigs start flying.

A Finnish guy finds a lamp washed up on the beach, rubs it and a genie appears.
“Master, I grant thee three wishes.” Says the genie.
The Finn thinks for a while and wishes for riches and perfect health. Both are granted immediately.
“And what about the final wish?” asks the genie.
“I wish that Soviet Karelia should be returned to Finnland.“ says the Finn (it’s a cold war era story).
The genie looks a bit shocked and conjures up a map and points at the area in question - large tracts of what is now northern Russia.
“Er. I don’t even.. how am I supposed to do that? I mean even if Finnland has a piece of paper granting them ownership, or something, what about all the Russians living there? What’s to stop the USSR just invading again? Can’t you think of another wish?”
The Finn is a reasonable guy, so he relents.
“I wish to understand the minds of women, so that I know how to make them happy.”
All the colour drains out of the genie, and he kind of staggers a bit.
“Just a second. Let me have another look at that map.”
