Elric Narration

I just recieved Elric and I am impressed! The artwork in particular seems to be a step up from traditional runequest books.

Anyway, the introduction on page 2 just had that epic feel, like the "Know oh Prince..." from Conan. As a sometimes video game voice actor I couldn't help putting this bit to voice just to see what it would sound like.
It is a little raw.... things usually sound better after sound processing and with the addition of dramatic music but I hope it is enjoyable regardless.

Cool, downloaded, thanks. I'll give it a listen later.

Genre: Blues though? I'd always associated Elric with Prog Rock Metal

I suppose he's paid his dues though...

There are audio books for Elric?! I am an audio book junkie, but have never seen Elric. I Know I am going to have to re-read them soon though and audiobooks would be great.
It is amazing how many books I am blowing the dust off of since Mongoose resurrected RQ & got the rights to all the childhood favorites; first the Leiber's Swords series and now inevitably the Elric stuff (I also dug up John Carter and Conan stuff just to get the full feel). I feel like I am in 8th grade again. Thanks Mongoose!

Ruric, I couldn't figure out what you were refering to with the Blues thing either, but I had a feeling that I just was not getting a joke. I had a kind of cartoon image of Elric singing the blues as he sucked the souls of defeated enemies while Moonglum played a harmonica accompaniment.

Sorry, I always check the MP3 tags on stuff before putting them on my MP3 Player (so I can find them later), and yours was labelled "Blues".

You can get the audiobooks from Chaosiums Website (check unser Stormbringer in their catalog) - they are the ones with part codes that start with AUD. Theey are probably available elswere as well if you look - the Chaosium site is just the one I know.

(And all their remaining Stormbringer supplements are $5, which is nice too).

Cool, I did order most of the Elric suppliments already due to earlier suggestions. Thanks! :D I am still eagerly awaiting them. I did not see the audio books on the site the first time. Going to zoom right over though. Thanks again!

I recorded the quote from Moorcock himself too, but it did not turn out as well.
If anyone is interested:

I believe this one will be under "blues" too. The sound designer who first wanted my work gave me the link and I have used it ever since.

I'd order them straight from the source: Audiorealms. I've had nothing but great customer service from them. Fred Godsmark, the producer posts from time to time over at multiverse.org. Audiorealms also do audiobooks of RE Howard and HP Lovecraft (among others). The Elric page is here. They have done Elric of Melnibone and Sailor on the Seas of Fate. Weird of the White Wolf is due any day now (with special freebies if you order online from the company, such as a reading of Moorcock's latest Elric story, A Portrait in Ivory). They're great - well worth checking out.

Dohh! I just ordered them both from a different place. Although... wonders never cease..... Robert E. Howard annnnd Lovecraft. :D

(I will eventually pick up the third Elric book from them though).

I know I checked for most of these authors a couple of years ago and couldn't seem to find many recordings. It looks like the Elric series is just now being released.

I May have to hold off on some of these for a while though; my credit card seems to be melting a bit and I have not pre-ordered Slaine yet. To tell the truth..Slaine is new to me... must have come out later.

It is amazing how many young gamers have never heard of these classic sci fi authors. I may pawn off the books on tape to my local gaming shops after I am done with them.
