Earth-Centauri war outcome.

I certainly didn't see any slow play. In fact the number of games that we reinforced from other tables would seem to contradict that.

As for getting recon run and the like, that was our plan. We deliberately selected the fleets for those tactics that were likely to come up. One of our players came up with a very helpful spreadsheet to help us do just that.

In the last turn, my directive to the captains was for the fleets in the centre sectors to get done as quickly as possible and reinforce other tables, which most of them did.

Any games I (the ISA player) delayed for tactical discussion were for exactly that, no ulterior motive was involved. I really am that bad at tactics

Apart from the game I played against the Gaim, I was going as slow as possible in that game to prevent Gaim support getting to other tables. Icould have played slower but that would have been pushing the bounds of sporting behaviour in that game.

I don't think you were bad at tactics, just maybe not confident enough in yourself? which is odd for a scot!

And I was I glad to finally get a Recon Run as attacker in the last turn, that's what WS are built for.

Nice of you to say so, I come up with good tactics, but I keep forgetting to stick to them. In our double Admiral showdown Triggy and I came up with an excellent plan that in no way survived contact with the enemy. Consulting with Triggy to adapt the plan is a major part of why I managed any coherent response.

And I am not a typical Scotsman

lol couldnt predict my tactics as they were random ;) even i couldnt predict them due to being slightly drunk on the 1st day.
although I did look at scenarios that would benefit my fleets. looking at some of the battles i think the fleets ended up as wrong attacker/defender for the tactics i chose.

Some of the best battle plans start as general ideas:

"Split their forces and target them in this priority, plus targets of opportunity" and then shoot from the hip from then on...
