Dave,

A couple of us from the walsall club are planning on going, and linking up at one hotel, although I'm the only one that has signed/paid up for the campaign up to now.

Sweet. Looking to get cheap rooms/deals somehow? I'd be up for a share of that if you chaps don't mind.

Anyone know if you sign up for a place and pod out the money, then have to back out if there's any refund?

Holy smoking public transport....

manchester to Swindonvia national express, 8 hours, 45 mins, getting there at 6.45 pm... hmmm, ok then trains...

leavibng manchster at 5.05AM, arrives at swindon at 9.15am via 4 trains.

and they say to drive less, pah!

You're covering half the country there, Hiff. Going to be a long haul however you travel.

indeed, looks like car to the rescue, 170ish miles, 50mpg+ ..cheaper, faster and more convenient than public transport, what a fine invention

Yessss, just when the government is banging on about using public transport more, and cutting your carbon footprint, I went out and considerably enlarged mine.

A nice big plush and comfortable renault laguna, 1.9 dci 130 bhp, all for me. Mr Brown can go and poke his emissions and his public transport.

Oh and dave, yes we are planning on room share, and yes you are more than welcome to get in on the action [erm that is room sharing in a completely non-homosexual capacity I might add!]

I've had this trip to Swindon before by train - Nottingham to Swindon and seven changes! The trouble is, it's an early, weekend train trip not staying solely on the main cross-country lines. If you can get there an hour later, the journey gets cheaper, faster and has only two changes. It's the 5-7am limited service trains that are the problem on weekends.

I had 3 changes from warminster to Sutton in Ashfield, and the person in the ticket office thought I wanted to go to Sutton Colfield ..... :?

It's also a pain because on the weekends they tend to do works and the only thing that sucks more then getting the train long haul is thinking that's what's happening, paying for that to happen (an it ain't cheap) and then being told you have to use a replacement bus service they've laid on instead

Splendid, I'll let you chaps know asap.

So the Kitties of the Galaxy will all be living it up in penthouse rooms then :D. So we can expect the Centauri players to be hosting banquets then lol.

Or will we be finding a dvd player and watching b5 episodes after the pub?

Banquest? It'll be like the Festival of Life, complete with bald belly dancers, so much food and drink it'll come out of our ears and a Drakh Keeper for every guest as a party favour...

Yeah not sure what you Earth Force guys are getting ?

Telepathic scans to keep you in order, lectures from the Top Brass - maybe if you are good the Minbari will give some of their food and a glass of water !

you mean the cut out behind LBH - hmm not sure that counts..........

I am now soooooooooooo tempted to hire a limo and some girls for the Centauri players to arrive in / with - just to get the right start to the weekend :)
