Earth Centauri War campaign questions

Greg Smith

Mongoose
We've (Ken, Clanger, Da Boss and I) been thinking about this and have come up with some questions for Matt.

1. Can mixed League fleets be used?

2. Does my flagship have to come from the same fleet as I selected, ie if I opt to play Centauri, can I chose to have a Drakh mothership as my flagship?

3. Do carried ships count towards the 8 ship limit?

4. Damaged ships are repaired, does this include replenishing fighters?

5. Can I keep left over fighters from destroyed ships for the next game?

6. If a battle calls for less than 5 FAPs (such as Blockade Run), I assume I must use less than my full fleet? Can the Admiral still intervene?

7. If several players take the role of Grand Admiral because they die and are replaced, who gets the trophy?

8. How are you going to cope with personal bias should it arise?

9. What happens if a player loses all his ships and the Admiral cannot or will not replace them?

10. What happens if one side has vanquished the other before the end of weekend?

11. If the Admiral joins a battle and his ship survives, does his ship get a refit as well as the player's or just one ship on his side, and if just one who decides?

12. Is an admiral required to keep his word?

13. If a fleet for hire fights for one side, can they throw the battle for payment by the other side? If so hiring mercanaries could become a dubious prospect, especially since you will get them allocated for free.

15. If a scenario calls for more than 5 FAPs (Planetary Assault: attacker), what happens?

16. Will all of your ships really be repaired after every scenario (meaning that they'll be arriving as fresh reinforcements for an adjacent table), or do they only get repaired at the end of the campaign round?

17. Likewise, do you really get the refit roll immediately after you finish your own scenario (and therefore before you reinforce an adjacent table)?

17b. Assuming that the refit roll is per scenario, does this mean that you get a refit roll for reinforcing an adjacent table?

18. If a scenario calls for less than 5 FAPs and that battle ends, can the player use the full 5 FAPs of his fleet to reinforce another battle?

19. Do we need to bring civilian ships for Convoy Duty & Supply Ships scenarios, or will Mongoose be providing those?

20. If a Minbari player is selected to be Admiral, can he borrow Mongoose's Neroon, since there isn't a model?

21. If I chose an admiral as part of my fleet selection, do his abilities 'reset' before I procede to another table as reinforcements?

no - we were trying to preempt and avoid any possible arguments / misremembering :) Even non comptetative games get heated sometimes.(as someone who has temper problems I know this all too well  ). Personality clashes have also been known to occur...............

I could forsee something like the Admiral promising a fleet for hire, '2 Ducats now and I'll pay to replace any ships you lose'. And at the end of the battle saying, 'Sorry, I need my Ducats for my own guys.'

If this is allowed, fair enough. If the Admiral is expected to honour his promises, then it should be said upfront, to stop anyone who feels miffed running to the refs., or simply feeling that he has been stiffed and his enjoyment marred.

I know this is not a question, but I would like to point out the the guy im bringing has not been playing very long, so if he has any questions please help him out.

thanks

Dee

I'm good for that, despite what happens on these boards, i'm fairly likeable ;-)

Not a problem - especially since he is (I believe ) on the side of the righteous and worthy Lion of the Galaxy. Am sure there will be plenty of wine and entertainment on our side of the hall? :D

good idea that man, I'd better get down the wholesalers and stock up.
sod the battle, lets get drunk. . .

22 - Will all games be at battle priority? With only an 8-ship limit it's tempting to bring bug guns, but if raid and skirmish games pop up that's going to cause a lot of trouble.

We should form a trade union....pay up now, or we jump out and send reinforcements to the opposition....

are you def going ? Drakh?

Another question - is the Victory still unique - ie can a EA Admiral jump in with his if there is already one on the table?

ok, the Excaliber is only Unique for the EA is it not, the ISA can take as many victories as they want?

I am certainly going yes, just need to book my hotel room. Matt has not confirmed drakh, but I expect to be playing them and have decided upon my fleet

I shall be bringing the Centauri nostalgic weapon of choice; to ensure full co-operation for the Great Centauri Republic . . . . . . .

In the absence of any lethal poisons I shall default to rohipnol.

Oh and dave, yes we are planning on room share, and yes you are more than welcome to get in on the action [erm that is room sharing in a completely non-homosexual capacity I might add!]

......I feel very sorry for this Dave!

Despertaly flailing back on track :)

I think the first page of the thread does ask alot of important questions which will help to make the weekend an even bigger success than it will already be :)
