EA players, justified complaints, or blinkered whiners

My issue with the Warlcok is mainly that I started building and playing a crusade era EA fleet long before the Armageddon fleet split. One of the main reasons for doing so was the fact of how much I loved the Warlock mini but now I can hardly ever use the thing (and frankly wouldnt even if I got the chance in most scenarios (2 Command Omegas strike me as better use of an Armageddon point (or more likely 1 Command Omega and 2 Marathons or Regular Omegas).

I certainly dont NEED the warlock to play but it would be nice if they were going to change around such a popular ship (with such a great miniature to boot) if they at least made its armageddon version not... well... suck.

I think people are justified in asking the Warlock be brought back down to War level. It really doesn't make any sense to bump it up to Armageddeon level when the Nemesis is there in the same time period all the other younger races get an Armageddeon ship. It was a good solid War choice and it helps keep the progression of the top level EA warship from era to era.

It's just not the EA voiceing concerns on the way MGP has gone.
Centauri have some ships way too good and some way to poor which ones will you use.
Most Mimbari complaints are either ships to fragile or stealth system sucks. People really don't like the all or nothing approach.
Not so many post about the other races has not as many play them. I try not say anything about fleets i don't have experience with.
My biggest concern with Armagedon why have most the fleets with them, it should a ancient thing so we could have them scary as people want them but still had the other lvl ships so they actually play the classic 5pt raid.

There is clearly more than one Mongoose.

The good Mongoose is the one that responds to player concerns - upping the damage scores on the Omega and Hyperion, dropping the Oracle to Skirmish, fixing the Sagittarius.

But then there's the bad Mongoose that comes up with oddball left-field ideas that stink - such as the Armageddon PL Warlock, the Crusade - era Skirmish PL antiques roadshow, or messing up the Sag in the first place.

I think we should find the bad one and have a barbeque....

Have a nice cup of tea... go on, use Nambarrie teabags. :P

Semi- seriously, as far as I reckon they took most of the good ships out and put them in one list, most of the bad out and crammed them into another, and left a confused muddle in the middle.
(It's not actually that bad, I just couldn't resist the rhyme.)
Thing is, I think it's the other way around- apart from the actual Time Wars plan, now on holiday, early EA does a lot more damage on my table than Crusade.
Maybe it's just me, the light hunter packs and all, but- no, I don't like it. I'll probably just add the Marathon and the Nemesis, maybe use my own scheme for era appropriate weapons (no pulse cannon pre 2240, no heavy lasers before 2246) and otherwise stick with Sky Full of Stars EA.
Which, who would have thunk it, is also a Mongoose product.
The reason we're all so busy getting wound up at the changes is because we like the game. It's good, probably very good. It's nearly great. if we didn't care, didn't want it to make that last few feet up the slippery slope, we wouldn't be bothered.

I'm going to have to start coming up with ridiculous ways of misspelling 'Minbari' to annoy him now.....

Frankly, I accept that the EA will get the lion's share of the attention (which is a shame for the Centauri.... :D ) . As noted, they represent 3 fleets, and have the most development in the series.
Mongose has, fortunately, resisted 'space marine syndrome' and the EA fleet (now the sagittarius has been sanitized) is not noticably more powerful than any other fleet.

I agree that the war level warlock makes sense (it's even got 'war' in the damn name! Get the hint!), anything else seems fine. Between Chronos and Delphi for raid level work, and the assault hyperion and hermes there is an EA ship at all priority levels - and I honestly can't see what people think is wrong with the hermes - it's the only patrol ship in the game with 30cm weapons....allowing it to do exactly what you want from an initiative sink - stay the hell away from the fight! - and it's also one of only 3 jump-capable patrol ships allowing a jump-striking force to cheaply open up 3-4 points on different sides of the enemy, then bring the nemesis CAFed through whichever one their opponent has his backside pointed at....
