Dude, Where's My Uzi?

Just picked up a copy of the core rulebook. A most excellent job indeed (apart from the artwork in the character generation section which sucks big time). I am a diehard MegaTraveller geek and I never thought it would better that but I do believe it has.

However, where is that weapon beloved of all Travellers since the classic edition? Equally at home in any ship's locker or the hands of a TL6 grunt, the SMG! A most distressing omission indeed. :cry:

That aside, it's nice to see an RPG rulebook that spells "armour" correctly. :wink:
 
Note the rate of fire on the "Auto-pistol".

There's your SMG. Remove the ROF for a *real* auto-pistol, and we get both.

Submachine Gun: A light fully-automatic weapon firing pistol cartridges. Submachine guns usually come with either a rigid stock or a folding one for better accuracy. They use the Gun Combat (Slug Pistol) skill.

I noticed the omission on first reading as well. I assumed it was an indication that more weapons would be coming in supplements. It's the "Mongoose Way".
