Drones and Robots....

I can't seem to locate the system for making drones (like ships) and/or robots. Have I completely overlooked it, if so what book and page number?? Please.
Thank you, Mike

Robots is a book planned for the future, don't have any sort of release date on it.

Though the main Judge Dredd book does have some coverage of creating robots.

Book 2 has information on equipping small craft as drones.

Yup, but does not cover what I was looking for. Thank you anyway nezach.

Do you know if they are including a process for creating drones as well Andrew? The reason for my asking is the Merchant Prince benefit "Assistant" where the PC can get "A Drone Assistant is a free drone of the characters choice worth up to 10,000 credits". The available drones worth up to 10,000 credits is limited. The available drones worth up to 10,000 credits that seem beneficial for a merchant PC are even more limited.

I don't know about any of the Judge Dredd books as that is something of absolutely no interest to me. Never could get into Judge Dredd.

Don't know of any. It's possible they may choose to cover that when they do the Robots book, but we don't really know anything about that one at the moment.

Core book has the Personal Drone. I think someone may have a use for it, but it seems to me that it would be of more use to a high level executive more than anyone else. As far a merchants go anyway. All the drones that could be really useful for most merchants cost way too much.

Using just the Core Book I would take the Personal Drone (Cr2000) and add kit to it up to the Cr10,000 limit (adding up to Cr8000). Programs, tools, armour, whatever...

...quick example:

Merchant Doctor gains Drone Assistant award (choosing a TL12 model):

TL12 Personal Drone base model: Cr2000

+ Integral TL10 Medikit: Cr2250 (allows remote diagnosis and treatment, meds not included, TL12 version too expensive for this model)

+ Integral TL12 Computer/3: Cr1500

+ TL10 Translator Program 1: Cr500

+ TL12 Agent Program 1: Cr2000

+ TL11 Expert Program (Medical) 1: Cr1000

+ TL12 Medical Database: Cr500

= Final Value for TL12 Journeyman Design Bureau Medical Drone: Cr9750 (purposefully less than Cr10,000, you could add something else or make the database a bit bigger)

So the Doctor can examine and treat patients remotely (such as in quarantine), without language barriers, and gets a +1 to checks for the assistance when working with it (not remotely imo). And the Assistant can even handle some tasks independently (at Medical 0). If I understand all the relevant rules.

I can easily see similar versions (different tools and skills) for the Engineer, Steward, Trader, whatever.

Ahh. I misunderstood your "drones (like ships)" as you wanting to make drone like ships.

That's a great idea for a system far-trader. I like it!

Yeah, I seem to have a hard time getting what I mean across in type. Sorry about that.

Technically it would need to run Intellect/1, not Agent/1 - an Agent program is an irritatingly smart computer virus.

But yeah, just assume you can bolt kit to the outside of an existing drone model, I guess.

Hmm.....Grav belt, arc field blade, a computer Intellect running Melee (blade)....high enough TL to make it compact.....knife missile ahoy...
