My wife mentioned to me earlier today there was a new JD moving coming out... and I love what I see in the trailer. Stallone is "ok" but he/that version was a bit too over the top - ok, it was trying to hard to exactly recreate the comic book.

This looks much better, captures the nitty gritty dirty essence of the world from the comics and makes it believable. I may just be at opening night for this one (I normally wait a week let the crowds clear out.)

Thanks for the link!

Thanks for the link - I've been waiting a while for this one.

It looks an interesting cross between today's cityscapes and technology and the comic Dredd's, but it feels much closer than the last Hollywood attempt!

Arguably, the film's cityscape is a more rational one for MC1's population density.

Mind you Grud knows what area and population will be left to MC1 after the current 'Day of Chaos' story line.

Would be nice to have some Judge minis is the movie Uniform...

(also, with todays Prog, we have an estimation of the number of Citizens and Judges killed...)

Urrrgghh..... It looks terrible and the story couldn't be more generic.

The Stallone film was a poor story but at least it captured the MC visually, this can't even do the iconic (for a comic anyway) city skyline.

Huh? I don't get it. Why is this set in the present day, and why is Dredd wearing motorcycle leathers instead of a Judge's uniform?

100% agree with Gardensnake. It sounds good, the actors look good for their parts (is anderson psi or not?) but it seems like they just turned the Judge idea into swat team on bikes. And those lawmasters!!???

Either way I'll still be in line opening day to see that in 3d.

Doesn't look much like dredd to me, apart from the helmet, which is better than stallones one. Everything else, and particularly the setting, looks nothing like Mega City 1. At least in batman it still looked mostly like Gotham. Unless it turns out to have a good script and plot (most unlikely), I will skip this one.

I've been a Dredd fan for years, but I kind of like the realistic, non cartoony take on things this movie looks to have.

As long as Dredd doesn'tTake his helmet off barely five minutes into the movie I think I'm going to like this one.

I'm sure this movie is well made but from the trailer it looks like a 1d action flick, and lacking all the dark humour and richness of setting that the comic strip had. I expect this to sink without trace.
