Drazi / Brakiri Occuptation

Da Boss

Mongoose
I am writing the next part of Darkness Rising and i was hoping to pick some B5 fans brains:

I am trying to decide how the Drazi in paticular (and to a lesser extent the Brakiri) would deal with the population of an occupied world they have conquuered (in this case Narn)

My initial thought is that the Drazi would be mostly disintrersted in the population/ or interfering with their society, except perhaps ensuring that resoruces/materials/ships etc are privided to the occupiers but would react farily violently to any disruptions or resistance?

the Brakiri I am thinking a very Corporate style with induentured workers (slaves in all but name) and a dispassionate view of the occupied - work them hard, but feed them well and give them incenetatives?

anyone have any thoughts?

thanks

The Brakiri could well go for a Federated model of colonisation. If a world within their sphere of influence already has life (e.g. Lorka VII) then they will leave the world to govern themselves, but expect payment for providing protection (Naval aid). A conquered world would be different in that the existing power structure will have broken down. The Brakiri would be interested in getting things back up and running as efficiently and quickly as possible (after all, time is money). After this, some degree of autonomy may be granted as long as the tax revenues arrive on time.

I'd agree with the Drazi assessment. "What can we get?" or "What's in in for us?" sort of attitude to the world and it's population and likely to break heads if the population don't submit to their rule.

As the population is Narn though, this could cause further issues as you have the effect of the Narn conquest of some League worlds after they threw off the Centauri occupation. Either race could be looking for some payback.

IIRC there is one episode in season 4 that shows a how they treat a world on the edge of Drazi Space....
Season 5 (Paragon of Animals) ... the race being the Enfili
Edit: is that sad, or what?
