Drakh Mother Ship

I have been thinking of trying my hand at making my own mothership as per a picture in another thread a few pages back. I don't know what would work best for making this. I was wondering for the sculptors and "bashers" out there what they could recommend to make the model out of. It would probably be a made with not using an existing model. I had thought of using an existing mo ship and then making on top of this to resemble what is pictured. It is just that the existing moship is rather wide compared to the picture. Any ideas would be appreciated. It also would be just a one of a kind. I am not a sculptor or caster as our friend from Germany is. I could only hope to come out with something as good as his stuff.

I'd suggest modeling clay. I'm no sculptor, but I used to play with plasticine in my childhood. Nice material for dinosaurs, monsters, etc. They're rather similar in texture to the modeling clay, and IMO would suit the need for organic look of the Mothership very well. Hope that helps.

i think...try it. you can learn a lot when you make it. the rest is experience and patience.
i know, it is easy to say....

look around on the web. there are many several firms and shop whoes sell sculpting clays. I have no especially favorite, personly. i try all what i find and then i use the best in the end. I had try green stuff at the beginning of my sculpting "tests" ...,and currently i use an polystyrene clay for the Venator, for example.
