yep most tourneys recommend ship sheets but theyre not ESSENTIAL. You should at least have some kind of list for your ships and their stats though.
Oh and thought of the most dirty tactic I've ever actually employed in a game:
SFoS/Tourney list rules, blockade run against Brakiri (I was the 'runner') at Skirmish level.
I fielded 1 Delphi scout and left any remaining points I had alone. (cant remember exactly how many FP you get in that scenario off hand). I came on as far from his big guns and fighters as possible and just went APTE right from the start. 18" move with stealth 5+ (so he needed a 6 to even target me with the few ships he had) and pegged it straight for the opposite board edge. As it happens he got lucky on turn 3 and nailed me with an Avioki main beam and won the game but I still consider it a fairly cheesy force on my part (no matter HOW sensible (and indeed probably what EA WOULD do to try and slip past a blockade)
