Dirty secrets of Babylon5

1. Under quarters in the Zoccalo book it states that some quarters have a seperate shower stall. What do those people without one use? Are their public showers , where and how much to use?
2. What about a toilet? What public ones are there and how much to use?
3. Laundry facilities - same problem. What public ones are there and how much do they cost?
4. Vibro showers get off most dirt,. How do they go on oils? Do you still use deodorants, shampoo, whatever?

Are there public lockers that you can use to store things or clothes?

Could Someone send me some diagrams of rooms layouts, as the two in the main book don't even have the shower. They have a bed room and a living room( well the ambasssadors one does). The other just has one room.

Which shop do you get all your toiletries from?

If you have to take vitamin supplements, do you buy them at a shop or do you have to keep going to Medlab?

Vitamin supplements. Anything you can get from a shop today you'd get equivalents from a shop then.

Deodrants and perfume yes, shampoo unlikely. At least not as we know it, it would need water which wouldn't work in a vibro shower.

Public toilets, probably available in most public non residential sectors for a nominal fee, I mean it could be a few miles walk to get back home, and on a sealed stationyou don't want anyone getting caught short

That sounds interesting. The part about the showers that is. Although I thought mnost quarters had some sort of sonic shower.

It sounds a bit Star Treky, but I assumed that most quarters on B5 had something like this.

Series 1 ep13 Signs and Portents.

Garibaldi and Sinclair are seen talking in the Gents. Its in Blue sector so it may be for station personnel only but it would seem likely that their are similar facilities throughout the station. It is a long way from Brown sector to Blue sector after all.

Water showers only available to the command staff and ambassadors, sonic systems for the rest ("All Alone In the Night" chapter from the Babylon 5 Roleplaying Game and Fact Book)

I'd forgotten that one was in a civilian area. And there's the cubicle labelled "For Pakmara use only"

I'm intrigued . . . .

To paraphrase, "Don't go there geek-friend!"

The good news is that the station has hair and makeup specialists around every corner. They are all free so everyone, human and alien, looks their absolute best at all times. They touch people up between "takes" and disappear as quickly as they arrived.

It can be very confusing for someone not used to it.

I don't want to use the Pakmara facilities I just want to know what they are. I mean is it the three seashells or what?

Blue goldfish???

Yep and as they are leaving the gents a woman walks in after them. There is Quite a funny bit about this on the extra comentary on the DVD.

Maybe the loos have gone co-ed after the signs get put up?

Maybe the woman thought Ivanova was in the ladies and didn't want to risk it?
