Dilgar "Masters of Destruction"

All Bolters cause Triple Damage on critical including the crit causing hit. All Pulsars cause double damage on a critical and the causing hit.

So I hit someone with a bolter, and roll a six for the hit, that die does triple damage and any damage from the critical is also tripled?

But the Thorun's Twin Bolt Cannon does not get the bonus.

Tank Driver, sounds like you need to get the Dilgar fleet book.

If you know the masters of destruction rule, the pentacon rule and the initiative modifier it saves you buying the book (given that the ship stats are available online).

Don't pull that GW stat line - give the man the info. I'm curious what it all means myself.

You don't want to discourage interest - he'll buy the book when he likes the fleet. Really, no GW tactics here please.

I tend to concur also if he just wants to give em a try and see if he likes em Id say its a bit harsh trying to make him buy a fleet book thats going to be obsolete in a month or two anyway!

Pentacon though is cool:

Basically if you have a saudron of 4 or more ships you can choose to 'skip that shadron' once per turn as your initiative step:

eg. 2 players are playing.

Step 1: EA player moves a chronos
Step 2: Dilgar player skips his pentacon
Step 3: EA player moves an Omega
Step 4: Dilgar player moves the pentacon

Other than that its just a squadron but its basically a squadron with a free iniative sink built in.

The other thing the rule does is allow dilgar fighters to assist in dog fights from 1" away without actually being in base contact (at least one fighter has to be in base contact to actually START the dogfight though)

Dilgar are nasty ;)

I tend to think its a bit harsh to deprive Mongoose of income. By putting rules up on the forum, you are allowing anyone to use the Dilgar without buying the book.

but the book is obsolete in a month, so it's false economy to buy it.
now then, if the fleet book contained scenarios, characters, campaign rules and opposing league fleets, it would actually be a book you would want to buy :-)

I tend to think that if all the rules from the book can be summed up in a 2-line forum post, it's a pretty false economy for anyone to buy it! The pictures aren't even any good.

Besides what happened to the S&P Dilgar nd Drakh content that was promised before Christmas?

this is true, hence my outline for a good fleet book above ;-)
oh, I dunno, something like Dawn Of Retribution....ahem....

I still haven't looked at your scenarios, I apologise as i said i would. I'll try to have a look sometime today.

frankly its worth having the book for referecnce anyway and the background is a reasonably interesting read (and there is a bit more to the dilgar that hasnt been listed than in this thread anyway ;))

the Drakh one could certainly have been better. The RPG sourcebook is very interesting and full of information, sadly the ACTA drakh book...wasn't!
