saw this as well but as cannot play these games on my packard bell does anyone know a retro site with this game so I can play it instead of looking at the covers 8)

I know of some software which can emulate old DOS-games for Windows XP.
So I think it should be possible to emulate the graphic and the sound cards to play it with a new machine but I don't know how to do it personaly.

I manged to get the tape daeck versionof thsi old game more for purpose of wanting to own a copy of this game ( It's a collecters Item.) rather than wanting to play it. which it is alittle annoying after awhile.

Anyway, 2000Ad Online have all those 2000ADd related emulated games ready for download somewhere on their website.

I'll look for exact page it it was on later.

Do you mean they also put the Slaine game online?

Surely you jest when you claim you don't know of 2000Adonline when your also a self-confesssed fan of Slaine.

http://www.2000adonline.com/

It's a website for the magazine of the same name 2000AD.

Home of Judge Dredd.

As for Slaine online game.

One could only wish.

Anyway, log on to the site linked above or the messageboard link right here.

I'm not kidding. I already told you I am no fan of comics. Why should I visite the web site of a publisher I don't buy any product from?

I figured you liked or would like reading Slaine ( Being part of 2000AD.) and I remember you commented that you had alot of difficulty obtaining old Slaine Progs and graphic novels.

I guess it's handy to not like something that you may have trouble finding in easy distribution.

You must confuse with someone else. The only comics I was suggested to buy from Toothill is Warrior Dawn but I did't bought it yet because I am no true comics lover (though I have Druuna and bought the Conan's Dark Horse reprint).

I just came to know Slaine with the RPG in fact.

well, You did say it here that 'your not a true fan because you don't collect the comics.'

( I what you said.)

Hi,
I am not a true fan because I don't have any of the comics, nor did I know about it before Moogose published the game.
Anyway it has much Celtic things in it, much more than Gurps Celtic Myth for example. Earth has a real power; it (she) gives the EP (that is the magic point) through dolmens as well as the warping which makes warriors invicible. Druids have power of the blessing/cursing and elements very unlike D&D.
The setting is totally Celtic. Main villains are the Drunes, a decadent tribe, and the Fomorians, as well as EL-creatures.
There are rules for Enech (honor/reputation) and taunting before battle (reminiscent of the Braveheart movie).

In fact the Slaine D20 were somewhat different from the usual rules (there are magic points for spell casting and these points are limited - usually 6-12) and it shouldn't be difficult to play them with RQ rules.

I don't know if many material will be published under these rules but I suggest you buy the horned god campaign (in 4 96-pages books). It is about collecting magic stones and unifying tribes against a king that don't want to retire.

If you look in this forum, you'll easily find some review/comments about the game.

Though I find it strange that you like this game with out any connection to reading or liking the Slaine comic strip.

I myself I would not be giving this game the time of day without being haivng first been well aquainted with it's background story.

Your quote is right.
I bought Slaine because I was interested by the Celtic setting above all and knew that it was different from the usual d20 rules.

I don't know if you have any of the Slaine RPG books, but they are well wirtten at explaining everything. Ian Sturrock did a great job indeed.

think you both are right but coming from completly differant directions as slaine has 2 man camps of support
the first are those who love the slaine comics(2000AD) and that is fine and most have vast stores of old progs to use as source material(ian sturrock was of this camp)
the second group is those who love the celtic backgroumd as slaine is the best celtic game by far and these people normally have books of history, celtic novels and a love of all things celtic to draw as source(belive mogoose acolyte is more of this group ie cult books + more about fey,not following canon for adventures etc)
both these strands are right and a bit of cross over is great but both play the greatest celtic game ever invented which is still being added to,so be happy everyone is differant and pity the masses who have yet to discover slaine 8)

Yes the problem with Canon material there is that you have to include some time travel (Slaine fighting Roman warriors) which IMO isn't very Celtic.

Look what I found on Ebay.
