Did anyone actually playtest the Neroon?

Okay, same sort of result vs. a Nemesis. But was skeletoned in one round of shooting by it, only to de-crew it with 4 hits and 4 crits, and a TD reactor explosion.

well i finally won one - vorlon heavy cruiser verssu neroon - no crits to actually knock it out so just 3 crits from 2 turns of shooting, heavy cruiser left on 27 damage, neroon dead from 2 hits from lightning canon.

Not funny :S saw through stealth both turns at range, and self-repaired the delicious 22 damage from the first turn :( I guess the Neroon's used up its 2 wins for the year.

Maybe the 'new' technologies on the Neroon just "need time to bed in" and the Neroon will be fixed in version 2.
Don't even go there!!!!!

Don't go where? *looks around innocently*

All I'm saying is that Matt isn't likely to change another ship from Arma as he did with the Saggi, but that given enough encouragement, the Neroon could be reviewed and made worthwhile in a year or so's time, once the current one has had time for people to get used to it, al-la what's supposedly happening with the Drakh Mothership

I'm just reading through Armageddon again and I just can't believe the Neroon. On paper it looks very weak. Can someone share the details of their playtesting experience?

I'd like to know what it looked like before it was finalized. How did it evolve?

(edited to remove over-the-top sarcasm and glibness)

No we didn't playtest it we just put numbers on a dart board and then threw darts to assign values to the stats. Just so people that don't fully grasp how ships fit into a fleet can complain about it.

once again, the reasonable voice of the companies playtesters!

You only get the sandwich AFTER you've got the ships right (may be a bit mouldy by then)

I can send you half a cheese sandwich?
What sort of cheese? Edam or Emmental, yes, but I'm not fond of Gorgonzola.

Wulf

The important question should be "Is it toasted?"

mmmmm, toasted cheese sammich :)

And everybody knows Monterey Jack is the ultimate in cheese. Well, except for a 10 Arma Saggi list

Ah right, your imposing penalty points, how about the cheese sandwich without the cheese? that way there's still an incentive of sorts?
