Not every Centauri ship is naked before fighter attack, remember. Most have very few AF dice but it's not some forbidden trait they're totally devoid of.

As an upgrade to the AF-less Vorchan, a couple of AF dice would make sense. Let's be fair, escorting fighters are worthless when they can't keep up with the bloody thing!

Exactly my point. 1 die of AF isn't going to break any banks, and just makes shipyard sense.

Given all the defense we're adding, though, some guns have to come off. I don't object to the Heavy Ion Cannon -- B5Wars "canon" gave it the underused Heavy Array -- but we're probably looking at 6 and 4 here between the H-I-Cannons and the Accelerator (which the B5Wars Demos didn't have).

7 and 4? I don't know why this game has its bizarre aversion to odd numbers.
 
well ok then, balance says it shouldnt. the demos is already a good ship (even the raid one which currently is overgunned and too slow). one of its few weaknesses is a vunerability to fighters so no I dont think it should have AF as thats just pasting over a weakness as I have said before.

Ah but the entire Vree fleet (including a Z'Takk too) only just took down two Demos in a turn. This isn't exactly quickly :P

As for the Demos - we see it have torpedoes and interceptors in the show and as a ship I feel that the equipment isn't too bad it's just a little balance issue.

Indeed, the shots in weren't great (including not a single crit) but also the Interceptors were great and the fact that Interceptors are (very) good on a ship like this is the crux of the balance arguament. The Demos is fast and manoeuvrable enough to evade most ships' beams and will more often be hit by fighters and secondary weapons and they are all (well mostly anyway) subject to being intercepted.
 
low AD + bad rolling vs good rolling interceptors = A Glorious Day for the Republic :)

what fleet did LDtD use in the end?
 
true but the amount of dice vree have that are SAP or TL that would be in range combined with one interceptor meant you had some serious bad luck, combined with LDTD getting serious good luck on Interceptors.
me I usually roll 1s for them which is why i mostly dont use interceptor fleets, or fleets with any sort of active defence :D i prefer to let things like GEG take their effect as i cant ruin my own ships day :D

so it had an effect at least ;) effected your movement. and it was 20vps you were not going to get without a serious fight :D

The Balvarin didn't do much, shot a few times, did a bit of damage, saved a couple of flights from interceptor-related death.

I'll use a Liati next time, my Venator hasn't arrived from sunny Germany yet...
 
Ah well - always good for me :) and Its ounds like it did more than the Octurion :wink:

the Octurion I find just not good enough - maybe with 24" beam it would be better...............preferably with a few lost AD in guns and its own interceptor. Making it 24" range in P+P would be nice..........only takes a line
