Davco 1944+ Ship Stats

Hi All,

We are just starting naval wargaming. After some googling it seems VaS would be a quick start for us as we are all FoW/40K players with little BFG background.

We have selected Skytrex Davco 1:3000 ships but can not decide which ERA to buy. Davco has several 1944+ ship sets. Are there ship stats available for the following ships ? I understand Davco has named some of the projected classes can anyone give class informations ?

DBP6 Task Force 6 - 1945

Battle Ships: Vanguard, Lion & Temeraire
Aircraft Carriers: Gibraltar, Audacious & Glory
Cruisers: Jamaica, Bermuda, Gambia, Mauritius, Newfoundland, Belfast & Newcastle
Destroyers: 4 C-Class & 8 Battle Class

DGP2 Battle Group 2 - 1944

Battle Ships: 3 x Friedrich Der Grosse
Battlecruisers: 2 x OPQ
Aircraft Carriers: Graf Zeppelin
Cruisers: Blucher, Seydlitz & 3 x Spahkreuzer
Destroyers: 4 x Z51 Type, 4 x Narvik Z23 & 4 x Narvik Z24

Thank you all,

Burger's Ship Viewer has a section on VaS, including several "Z" Plan ships:
Base site: http://www.ibisfightclub.co.uk/

It is a great site and nearly has all of the info I am looking for.

Except the following Royal Navy ships;

Aircraft Carriers: Gibraltar, Audacious & Glory -> What is the class ?
Destroyers: 4 C-Class & 8 Battle Class -> No info for a C-Class or Battle Class ?

Google is your friend... :)

Gibraltar = Malta Class
Audacious= Class
Glory = Colossus class

This assumes that the dates given are 1942/3 onwards... there may be older classes with ships of the same name.

The Gibraltar, Audacious and Colossus class carriers are in Order of Battle.

As for the destroyers, you can either pick a close approximation from VaS or Order of Battle or try to make your own... in which case I'm sure the gents in here will help you out with balancing them. I'd suggest possibly using the Tribals for the Battle Class - but also be aware that there's actually a 1942 and a 1943 Battle class according to the wiki, so looks like the stats may have changed as the war progressed.

Thanks for the info, one final question about these;

Z51 Type, Narvik Z23, Narvik Z24 can all these classes have Zerstörer class stats ?

Several ships your asking about were just hulls or plans by the time the war ended. This game does not cover Fantasy ships yet but could be stated out. the others are allready done. Have you bought both the rules and the expasions yet to get the ships that are stated. I have a file set with all the ships sheets I have aquired plus there are several expanded list at the top of this forum. Also the ships your listing sound like your getting them from WAS same as I do beside custom made ships that I have.

I am asking these ships as my friends want to use Late War starter sets. My personal choice was 1941 German Navy but in a group enviorenment the general choice dictates personal one.

A shame - by using hypothetical ships, they'll miss out on having the models for most of the scenarios in the books for a pickup game... speaking for myself, I quite like having the Bismarck and Scharnhorst... (even if I'm unsure how to spell the names without checking). :)

I'm mainly Japanese and USN though... I only have a few RN/KM ships.

IIRC we statted out most of the as built and projected ships out to about 1948. if they didn't make it into OOB they were probably posted in a copy of S&P. Alas I'm away from my sources at the moment so I can't check.
