Damage weapon

Gabriel

Mongoose
Hello. I am a newbie here. I am playing RQ with my friends and my boyfriend (he is the game master). I love RQ, it is my favourite game and we play it almost all weekends. This RQ is even better!
But there's something we are not sure about. When I choose damage weapon as a manoeuvre, should I do damage to the npc and the weapon, or only to the weapon? I rolled a critical hit and I choosed damage weapon and bypass armour, but we did not know what to do (my boyfiend told me that it was supposed to ignore the weapon AP, but I thought that it should be a hit against the npc and another one against the weapon)...
Thank you!!

Your boyfriend is right. Damage Weapon is damage to the weapon only - not the foe as well.

Glad you like the game!

Oh, I see  .Then disarm opponent should be like this. If I choose that manoeuvre, I cannot damage the npc at the same time.
One more question please (I think that my boyfriend is a cheater :P ): If I am fighting against a wyrm and I cannot attack it because his tail reach is very large, could I choose damage weapon to harm its tail? By the way, we have seen that the damage tail is 1D6+2D6/2. What is /2? A typo?

Use common sense. In some situations being successfully disarmed by a great weapon may allow the blow to continue onwards. But since being disarmed is bad enough it seem a little overkill in most cases.

Yes I suppose you could, but it is already stated on p92 that you can always attack the appendage used to attack you.

By the way, we have seen that the damage tail is 1D6+2D6/2. What is /2? A typo?
In mathematical terms it means 'Divide by two'. I.e., the damage bonus of the dragon's tail is halved.
